Tonight NCIS is hitting a milestone that is typically reserved for soap operas, game shows, and late night television – 1,000 episodes.
When the mothership airs its Monday night show, it will mark the 1,000th episode of the franchise (NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawai’i, and NCIS: Sydney).
While you’ll have to tune in to see all the Easter eggs, we do know the episode, titled “The Thousand Yards” will pay homage to the series premiere and include at least one guest star from the very beginning.
The following may contain spoilers!
At the beginning of the story, the agency finds itself under attack from an unknown enemy. As the NCIS agents work to uncover the identity, viewers are treated to “a lot of heavy nods to that [first episode], a lot of characters that we haven’t seen and people that were in the first episode, such as Joe Spano as Fornell,” Sean Murray, who plays Timothy McGee, told Parade.
“Without giving anything away, the whole team is together trying to stop something from happening with Air Force One. We did a lot of fun things when we filmed where we put in a lot of references visually and dialogue-wise to a lot of things that the longtime fans will appreciate. Little Easter eggs hidden around the episode.”
Diona Reasonover, who plays Kasie Hines, revealed fans will be treated to “a lot of the NCIS locations” and get to see how they all come together.
“That’s something that we’ve seen before, but it just feels special now because it feels like such a big case. It’s something that has never happened in NCIS before.”
Daniela Ruah from NCIS: Los Angeles and Vanessa Lachey from NCIS: Hawai’i will both make an appearance during the 1,000th episode, though neither will be in the NCIS Washington D.C. office.
Who else is excited for the milestone episode of NCIS? I know I am!
