For Pam, there’s a rather simple formula for couples at the top of Hollywood to ensure they’re not torn apart by the rigours of life before the cameras.

She believes it’s very hard, if not impossible, for both members of a couple to sustain a career in Hollywood at the same time.

She claims that it was her willingness to allow professional life to take a back seat to motherhood that is to thank for her and Mark having stayed together for so long.

While she admits to having enjoyed being a television star, Pam also says that there is no substitute to the feeling of being a mother.

When it comes to her boys, Pam said:

“I’m just their mom. They don’t care about what I did. They care about what they are doing. They want their parents to care about what they are doing. Their father is already iconic enough for two boys. I am just the mom.”

On top of this, the happy couple also takes precautions with regards to keeping themselves out of the news as often as possible.

Pam wants her children to grow up largely unaffected by the tabloids, and so her and Mark strive to keep their personal lives away from prying eyes and the flashing of cameras.

“Notice you don’t see us in the magazines. When you’re married, that’s real life. And to go and plaster your kids… I’m sorry. I’m not for that,” Pam shared with ET

It may seem like fairly obvious advice, but there are plenty of A-list couples who have allowed themselves to be torn asunder by a willingness to have anything and everything aired worldwide.Difficult though it must be – particularly with the allures of Hollywood – it seems as though putting marriage and family before all else is the way to go.
