Barron Trump will always find himself being compared to his father and half-brothers. Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump have had parts in their father’s administration, and MAGA fans are already pushing for Barron to become president in the future.
While he looked like he enjoyed the spotlight when his father presented him before a massive crowd on Inauguration Day, leaping head-first into a political career in the White House is another thing. It’s better to leave Barron alone than push him into a job he might not want in the first place. Otherwise, doing so could have sinister ramifications.
Ever since Donald Trump first decided to pursue the role of President of the United States, he and his family have been in the spotlight. Whether you like him or not, the impact he has had on American politics is groundbreaking, and the same goes for how people see his family.
Before the 2020 Presidential Election, one MAGA fan was seen donning a t-shirt depicting not only Donald Trump as president, but his children and grandchildren following suit, in effect creating a “Trump dynasty.” Now that his youngest son, Barron, is all grown up, some are already arguing that he will be president in the future.
When Barron Trump voted in last year’s election, fans were quick to predict that he could follow in his father’s footsteps. Many of them praised Barron’s several appearances on election day and Inauguration Day, and body language experts and others have hailed the way he handled conversations with the Hollywood elite.
Barron has what it takes to guide himself through the political jungle of Washington, D.C., at least if you look at his stature, way of handling himself, and how he converses with the politicians. If MAGA fans got to choose, he would undoubtedly be a future president.
But is that really what Barron wants?
Barron Trump for President?
Remember, the 18-year-old has never done an interview before, and has been shielded from the spotlight by Melania his entire life. He is said to have already founded his first real company, Fulcher & Roxburgh Capital Inc., but it will be some time yet before we have any idea as to whether or not he wants to pursue a career in politics.
That a famous figure’s children follow in their parent’s footsteps isn’t anything new. George W Bush stepped out of his father’s shadow to become President of the United States, and there’s nothing stopping Barron from doing the same.
His fan base is already there, but in the end, it has to be a choice he wants to make. Continuing to use the words “Barron for President” might not be the best option for now, as he’s focusing on his studies.
Giving Barron the burden of expectation for the future might just put even more pressure on him to become a politician than he already has. If he becomes a politician but not the president, should that then be seen as a failure?
“Entering politics should always be a personal choice”
The members of the Trump family have all followed Donald into his business, and now the same goes for politics. Barron should be allowed – and taught – to make his own choices when it comes to his future, no matter if he’s the son of the president or not. He is 18, but that doesn’t mean he’s grown up in every sense of the word.
He has lived in the shadow of his father all his life, after all, and now Barron should be able to explore life for himself without the pressure of becoming as successful as Donald has… at least not immediately.
Entering politics should always be a personal choice and not one driven by people who want him in Washington for his name’s sake. Let Barron be Barron – and not future President Barron Trump.
