Donald Trump mocks Taylor Swift after Super Bowl booes

The Super Bowl is over, and this year the Kansas City Chiefs got a taste of the medicine they dished out in 2024 after falling 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles. And with every Super Bowl day, there were plenty of things besides the game itself that went viral.

Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show stirred up many a reaction, but it was perhaps the contrasting figures of Donald Trump and Taylor Swift that took center stage.

Swift was in attendance to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who was sadly unable to help the Chiefs retain the championship. Meanwhile, Donald Trump made history Sunday as the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, and cameras around the stadium made sure not to miss it.

Cameras also zoomed in on Taylor Swift, which prompted many in the audience to boo her. Swift herself was even seen reacting to all the negativity… while Donald Trump wasted no time brandishing his claws. He decided to mock the superstar singer on social media, which probably shouldn’t come as a surprise considering their rocky history.

Donald Trump became the first sitting president ever to attend the Super Bowl when he walked into the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday to see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles went on to claim the title, winning 40-22, but the talk of the town post-game wasn’t only about what occurred on the field.

President Trump had announced early at the weekend that he would be in attendance for the Super Bowl. In an interview with Fox, he also predicted the game’s outcome, predicting that the Kansas City Chiefs would win.

“I have to go with Kansas City,” Trump said, praising the Chiefs’ quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany. “I’ve watched this great quarterback, who has, by the way, a phenomenal wife. She is a Trump fan; she’s a MAGA fan, so I happen to love her, okay. But she’s a great person.”

Mahomes and his wife didn’t have the best night of their lives (Kansas lost) but Trump decided not to focus on the game but rather on the new NFL kickoff rule.

“The worst part of the Super Bowl, by far, was watching the Kickoff where, as the ball is sailing through the air, the entire field is frozen, stiff. College Football does not do it, and won’t! Whose idea was it to ruin the game?” he wrote.

Donald Trump & Taylor Swift: Inside their rocky relationship

Trump’s presence at the iconic sporting event made a lot of noise, but not everyone believed he made the best impression. After arriving at the Ceasars Superdome, the 47th President of the United States made his way down to the field, greeting and taking photos with men and women from the police force.

However, according to body language expert Judi James, Trump looked “weary and tense.” As per the Irish Star, James claimed he could’ve been worried about his safety as it was a significant event, making comparisons to the 2024 rally when he was shot.

“Trump’s gestures and his facial expressions made him look rather weary and tense here. His wave to the crowd looked perfunctory and there was a tense-looking rigidity to his lower jaw,” James said.

She continued: “As his mouth opened the tension looked even more obvious, with a horizontal stretching of the jaw added to a slumping of the shoulders.”

Moreover, the body language expert claimed that Trump treated the fans he met as if they were diplomats or political officials.

“His somber dark suit was brightened by a red tie but his walk as he entered the stadium was slow and stately and he greeted his hosts and fans as though they were diplomats, shaking hands seriously with a distinct lack of showboating or playing to the crowd,” she added.

Donald Trump & Taylor Swift in attendance at the Super Bowl

Donald Trump was named the 2024 TIME Person of the Year. Just last week, after Time Magazine put Elon Musk on their cover, appearing to be sitting in Trump’s chair at the Oval Office, Trump took a swing at the publication, claiming he didn’t even know they were still an active magazine.

And while the 2024 TIME Person of the Year was in attendance, the 2023 TIME Person of the Year was also there. Taylor Swift was at the Ceasars Superdome to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. She has regularly attended his games since the pair began dating, creating an even more significant buzz around the team.

However, Trump and Swift’s relationship is a whole different story. They have a very rocky relationship going back many years. At the beginning of her career, Swift stayed away from making any political comments, but in 2018 decided to endorse a Democratic candidate in the US Senate election in Tennessee.

At the time, the Anti Hero star was already one of the major stars in the music industry and show business worldwide. She took to Instagram to endorse Phil Bredesen for the Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives.

“In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent,” Swift wrote in 2018.

Donald Trump lashed out against Taylor Swift after 2018 Senate endorsement

“I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape.”

The superstar continued: “She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.”

The fact that Swift decided to speak out about who she was voting for – and that it was a Democrat – caused Donald Trump to see red. Some days later, Trump was asked about Swift’s endorsement at the White House.

“I’m sure Taylor Swift doesn’t know anything about [Blackburn],” Trump answered. “I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, OK?”

Swift said Donald Trump thinks the US “is an autocracy”

This was not the first and only time Swift and Trump’s beef would be aired in public. In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, the superstar described the atmosphere in the US as “gaslighting the American public into being like, ‘If you hate the president, you hate America'” and claimed that Trump believed they weren’t living in a democracy.

“We’re a democracy – at least, we’re supposed to be – where you’re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate. I really think that he thinks this is an autocracy.”

The feud between Trump Taylor Swift continued, with the singer lashing out at many of the president’s decisions during his first presidential term. When Trump later decided to run for president a second time in 2023, he embraced the song Justice for All, which was sung by a group of dissidents who had been incarcerated over their alleged roles on January 6.

It was played at many of Trump’s rallies in 2023, at one point jumping to the No.1 spot on iTunes. Later the same year, during a rally in Houston, Donald Trump mentioned the song – and Taylor Swift.

“It beat Taylor Swift, it beat Miley Cyrus, who was number one and two,” Trump said. “They were number one and two, we knocked them off for a long time.”

“There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden”

It wasn’t a big surprise that Swift would endorse Joe Biden for the 2024 Presidential Election, and even though she never did it publicly, the picture was quite clear. Even so, Trump decided to take a shot at Swift, claiming credit for the 2018 Music Modernization Act. He further stated that the superstar singer would not endorse Biden’s re-election bid.

“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists. Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will,” Trump wrote on TruthSocial at the time.

“There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money.”

As Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is good friends with teammate Patrick Mahomes, it perhaps isn’t a big surprise that Swift became a good friend of Patrick’s wife, Brittany Mahomes.

The two have been sighted spending a lot of time together at Chiefs games, but when it comes to politics, they couldn’t be any different. Brittany Mahomes had endorsed Donald Trump for President of the United States, and when Trump heard about it, he took aim at Taylor.

“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better [than Swift] if you want to know the truth,” Trump said, adding that he was “not a Taylor Swift fan.

“She couldn’t, you couldn’t, possibly endorse Biden,” Trump continued and branded her a “very liberal person.”

Donald Trump mock Taylor Swift after she was booed at the Super Bowl

When Swift later endorsed Kamala Harris, Trump wrote on TruthSocial, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!

The list of times Trump has lashed out against Swift continues to grow. On Super Bowl Sunday, it happened again, and this time, Trump was particularly vicious.

When the president was shown on screen during the national anthem, the audience gave him a massive cheer. Meanwhile, when Taylor Swift’s face was shown, fans booed her, evoking a surprised reaction from the superstar.

It wasn’t long before Trump decided to take advantage of the situation. During the game, he posted a video of Swift getting booed by the crowd and, in a separate post, a video of him getting cheered. After the Super Bowl ended, he took to Truth Social, crediting his “Make America Great Again” followers for booing Taylor Swift.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump wrote.
