There’s a beer made with roasted bull testicles, and apparently it’s really, really nice

Beer and crazy things go together like beer and, well, anything.

When I say that, though, I’m more talking about drinking beer and proceeding to do crazy things *insert funny anecdote about turning living room into a WWE ring. What I’m not talking about is mixing crazy things into my beer before I drink it.

Now, I know there are plenty of experimental beers out there, ranging from those that are extremely strong (take the World’s Strongest Beer, 67.5% Snake Venom) to those that are extremely spicy. One that I only recently became aware of, however, and one that I’m not yet 100% convinced I ever want to try, is Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout. One of the key ingredients? … Bulls testicles.

Yep, you read that right. A few of you may have heard of this, erm … delicacy, since it came to prominence back in 2012. Somewhat unsurprisingly, it began as an April Fools’ Day prank ran by the Wynkoop Brewing Company in Denver Colorado.

For reasons beyond my comprehension, though, the beer would go on to become a firm fan favorite. So much so, in fact, that it’s now a staple of the brewery.

Coming in at a solid 7.2 percent alcohol, Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout boasts 25 pounds of “freshly sliced and roasted bull testicles” and sea salt. It’s also sold in a two-pack, which I will admit makes perfect sense given the nature of the beer.

Describing the beer, the brewery say its an “assertive”, vicious stout, which again is reasonable since it’s made from a bull’s testicles.

Now, while I can’t say I’m chomping at the bit to get a pint of this one in, it does have extremely good feedback from all those who have taken it on.
