Bride surprises father halfway through dance – voice interrupts song and makes him fall apart

There’s something about weddings that simply makes people emotional. Most people might not like to admit it, but their wedding day is something they’ve envisioned for a long, long time. The majority of girls spend their childhoods dreaming about a big fancy wedding and a pristine white dress.

Maybe it’s the fact there’s so much love in the air, maybe it’s simply that it’s a time for unadulterated celebration. In any case, fathers are usually amongst the casualties when it comes to those shedding tears on any given wedding day – fathers of the bride, that is…

In this particular case, the dad dutifully walked his daughter down the isle and permitted a few tears in the church. Once the ceremony was over, however, he didn’t anticipate anymore waterworks.

Of course, little did he know that his not-so-little girl had a special surprise for him…

When it came time for the traditional father-daughter dance, he and his daughter walked out onto the dance floor. Their special song started to play and all seemed in order, until halfway through the song the music changed and the lyrics were replaced by a certain familiar voice.

Even the guests began to choke up when they realised what the bride had done, and what it meant to her dad.

The bride had swapped out the lyrics, replacing them with the three-year-old version of herself singing, “I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family.”

It didn’t take long for dad’s facade of composure to crack. He rested his head on his daughter’s shoulder and simply wept.
