Chrissy Teigen and John Legend suffer heartbreak as they lose baby boy

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have confirmed the heartbreaking news that their unborn son, Jack, has died.

Chrissy, 34, updated the world via an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday evening, sharing a series of photos taken at the hospital with husband John, 41.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” the model wrote.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.

“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.

“But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us.

“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

“To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.

“Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.

“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience.

“But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”

As per CNN, Chrissu was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday after revealing that she had been on bed rest and bleeding for “a little less than a month.”

She and John Legend have two other children, Luna and Miles, conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF). This pregnancy, however, happened naturally, something Teigen hadn’t thought was possible for her.

Earlier this week, Chrissy updated fans to say that she’d been taken to hospital after experiencing a lot of bleeding.

“We’re talking about more than your period, girls, it’s definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot but it’s usually fine. Mine was a lot,” the model said.

“Every time I go to the bathroom it would be blood, and honestly just laying there there would be blood.”

She continued: “In the simplest of terms we can say my placenta is really, really weak.”

I can only begin to imagine the pain and sense of loss Chrissy Teigen and John Legend must be going through right now. So many women lose babies during pregnancy and yet suffer in silence.

It’s time we changed that, and so I’m thankful this couple were brave enough to shed some light on their tragic experience.

Rest in peace, baby Jack. We’re sending all our thoughts and prayers to the Teigen/Legend family right now.
