A soon-to-be 105 year old woman’s family is aiming to celebrate her milestone birthday by getting as many cards sent as possible.
As per reports, Helen Mangham is soon to turn 105, and her family are gearing up to give her a birthday surprise at Lifsey Springs, Pike County, Georgia, in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mangham was born on August 2, 1915, and her family have a tradition of celebrating her milestones. Given the chaos coronavirus has caused, they’re being forced to do something slightly different this year, but they still plan on showing their matriarch that she’s adored.
Pam Vickers, Helen’s granddaughter, said: “We decided to reach out to the world and see exactly how many birthday cards she could get and where they would come from. She enjoys getting cards.”
With that in mind, the family have put out a call for people around the world to send birthday cards to Helen Mangham – you can mail them to Pam’s home at 257 Wallie Road, Molena, Georgia, 30258. Helen’s birthday is August 2.
The current plan is for Helen to be celebrated by a small gathering of loved ones. They’ll give her the cards sent from other people, so that she knows people are rooting for her on her 105th birthday.
“Anywhere outside of this community just tickles her,” Pam said.
Remarkably, Helen has one sister aged 103-years-old and another who is 101. Her youngest sister is 94.
Happy Birthday, Helen! Here’s to wishing you many happy returns.
