The mother of a young girl with Down syndrome who was hospitalized with COVID-19 has confirmed that their family have said their final goodbyes and turned off her ventilator.
As per reports, Chloe Rollins was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 2 and placed on a ventilator under sedation.
Prayers and messages of support poured in from her local community of Hoover, Atlanta, and far beyond, lending her family the strength they needed to hope that she might pull through.
However, yesterday Chloe’s mom, Stacy, confirmed that the 19-year-old passed away after they made the terribly difficult decision to remove her ventilator.
In a Facebook update, Stacy wrote: “Danny and I would like to say thank you to all who prayed for Chloe and sent kind words. Our Angel is now with God.”
The teenager was reportedly known for her extremely bright attitude and the hugs she would give out. She was also a huge fan of country music singer Blake Shelton.
So far over 173,000 people in the U.S. alone have died at the hands of coronavirus. Our thoughts go out to all the families affected by the ongoing pandemic.
Rest in peace, Chloe, we hope you’re safe in the Lord’s arms now.
