Gwyneth Paltrow reveals what she eats in a day, and people are seriously concerned

Eating a healthy, balanced diet and consuming the right amount of nutrition every day is vital for all of us if we want to live happily.

We know this by now. Gone are the days when extreme diets were all the rage and people either outright starved themselves in the belief they were doing their bodies good by minimizing calorie intake, or jumped from trend to trend in a desperate bid to find a secret way to keep themselves in shape.

Or are they?

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has come under fire after her “wellness routine” recently went viral on TikTok. The 50-year-old has developed quite the reputation over the years for her restrictive eating habits, but her latest meal plan has more than just a few people concerned for her overall health… not to mention the message she’s putting out there for others.

Sadly, eating disorders are a very real, very serious issue that some individuals live with. There can be any number of reasons as to why people don’t feel comfortable in their bodies, any number of niggling doubts or worries that lead them to turn to specialized diets in a bid to attain the appearance they desire.

Celebrities and so-called “influencers” often hold a deal of sway in this regard. All it takes is one high-profile figure to speak about their eating habits and voila, a potential legion of followers might decide to jump on the bandwagon, for better or for worse.

It’s a sensitive subject, which is likely why Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent detailing of her daily diet is currently under the microscope.

The Shallow Hal star appeared on The Art of Being Wellbeing podcast with Dr Will Cole earlier this week and shared her daily meal plan… or lack of.

“I eat dinner early in the evening,” she explained. “I do a nice intermittent fast.

“I usually eat something about 12 and in the morning I have things that won’t spike my blood sugar so that’s why I have coffee.

“But I really like soup for lunch. I have bone broth for lunch a lot of the days. Try to do one hour of movement, so I’ll either take a walk or I’ll do Pilates or I’ll do my Tracy Anderson.

“And then I dry brush and I get in the sauna. So I do my infrared sauna for 30 minutes and then for dinner I try to eat according to paleo – so lots of vegetables.

“It’s really important for me to support my detox.”

Goop founder Paltrow’s omission was met with some serious reactions online, with thousands split over whether or not her “diet” was actually healthy at all.

Some even went as far as to label the actress’s meal plan an eating disorder.

According to Metro, body positive influencer Alex Light commented: “It makes me feel genuinely sad for her or for anyone who has been led to a point where they believe that this is what “wellness” looks like.

“Here’s the thing: you don’t need to intermittent fast or time-restrict your food.

“Bone broth for lunch, especially when you’ve not eaten any breakfast, is just not enough sustenance. You don’t need to eat “paleo” and you don’t need to detox.

“Wellness is about being physically and mentally well. Starving yourself isn’t it.”

And it appears Light wasn’t the only one prepared to criticize Paltrow’s remarks. Twitter came alive after the podcast was aired. Below are just some of the responses:

“Gwyneth Paltrow is the queen of Almond moms,” one person commented. “This is not what I’d consider as “daily wellness”. Where is she getting protein from? She needs sustenance. This is alarming. I’m sure G**p hasn’t helped at all.

Another said: “That gwyneth paltrow diet video is so triggering jesus.”

A third added: “Watching that video of Gwyneth Paltrow talking about her diet is wild, has anyone calculated that what she prob consumes in a day doesn’t exceed more than 1000 cals. And for an adult woman, that is literally frightening.

“What exactly is Gwyneth Paltrow detoxing for? Like there’s no way her diet is healthy at all,” wrote another.

One Twitter user said: “I saw two clips of Gwyneth Paltrow talking about her diet/wellness nonsense that makes me think we’re not far from her claiming she swims in the ocean and filters krill through her baleen for sustenance.

It should go without saying that we should all be doing our utmost to encourage body positivity, and that includes an emphasis on maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.

Please, consult your doctor or a dietician before altering your eating habits.
