Identical twin nurses help deliver identical twin babies

Everyone was seeing double in the delivery room of a Georgia hospital when identical twin nurses Tori Howard and her sister Tara Drinkard helped deliver a set of identical twins.

The 26-year-old nurses assisted in the birth of Addison and Emma Williams at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Good Morning America reports.

NICU nurse Tori and her sister Tara, a nurse in labor and delivery, didn’t know they would be working in the same room until a few minutes before the births.

“For every c-section that labor and delivery does, we have one NICU nurse that goes because c-sections are higher risk,” Tori told GMA.

“I was excited to go to a delivery with my sister but it didn’t really cross my mind — we’re twins and they’re twins,” she added.

The twin babies Addison and Emma were born three minutes apart.

“It was pretty neat because Tara took care of Becca in the labor and delivery room and Tori was taking care of Emma in the NICU,” dad Brannan Williams told GMA.

Mom Rebecca Williams told GMA she’ll be sharing Addison and Emma’s birth story as her babies grow.
