Jon let his hair grow for three years – to donate his locks to children with cancer

For many years, Jon Coyne was determined to let his hair grow, but not just for the sake of it.

He had a particular goal in mind: to eventually donate his long locks to people in need.

In October 2014, it had been 3 years since he’d cut his hair – and the time was right for him to fulfill his promise.

Jon visited the Gary Manuel Studio in Seattle to cut his long, wavy brown hair – which had grown to close to 30 centimeters long.

The salon offers free haircuts for people who donate their hair. Jon decided to donate his hair to Locks of Love, an American non-profit organization that produces wigs for sick children.

As it turns out, not only does Jon have a heart of gold, but beneath all that hair hid a handsome chap, too!

Isn’t Jon’s transformation just amazing? I think it was gracious and kind of him to offer his hair to help seriously ill children. Share his story if you agree it was well worth it, too!
