Little Caesars hangs sign on door after catching homeless man go through trash

The Little Caesars’ staff were shutting down shop one evening when something caught their attention outside the establishment.

A homeless man was rummaging through the trash, desperate for leftover scraps of food.

The employees approached him at which point he fled. This kind of behavior may have sadly been punished in the past.

But when you think about it, how could we possibly be so cruel as to punish or reprimand someone for going through trash for food?!

Sadly, that’s what this particular homeless man appeared to be used to. He was seen again on several occasions, but every time the Little Caesar’s staff tried to approach him just to talk, he would run away.

“You’re a Human Being”

That’s when the restaurant staff decided to try a different approach. They posted a note outside the shop, reading:

“To the person going through our trash for their next meal, you’re a human being and worth more than a meal from the dumpster.

Please come in during operating hours for a couple of slices of hot pizza and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.”

It’s unclear whether the homeless man ever took up the management’s offer, but what’s certain is that a little grace can sometimes give a person a much needed nudge to start turning his life around.

…And no one human should ever be going through trash for food.

What a wonderful gesture! If more people thought and behaved like the management of this restaurant I have no doubt we would shape a better world. Please share this story if you agree — you might inspire someone out there!
