Missing toddler Nalani Johnson found dead – autopsy to be performed Wednesday

State police in Pennsylvania have together with the FBI discovered the body of abducted toddler Nalani Johnson, according to reports.

WPXI say that Johnson’s body was recovered during a search in Blairsville after the little girl was abducted on Saturday night. Investigators have spent the past few days combing the area between Penn Hills and Blairsville.

Police say Nalani was in a vehicle on Saturday with her father, a friend of her fathers, and a woman named Sharena Nancy. Nalani’s father and Nancy proceeded to have an argument, one that resulted in Nalani’s father getting out of the vehicle with his friend.

Before he could get his daughter out of the car, however, Nancy drove off.

Nancy was subsequently charged with kidnapping and concealing the whereabouts of a child. She claimed to police that Nalani was being sold by her father for $10,000.

According to investigators, there is no evidence to back up Nancy’s claim, while Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty has indicated additional arrests may be made.

“Make no mistake, we are working very hard to ensure the individuals involved are brought to justice,” he said.

Reports state an autopsy will be performed today in order to determine how Nalani died.

Rest in peace, Nalani Johnson.
