Newborn baby girl delivered in ER after mom was killed by suspected DUI driver can go home today

The baby born in the ER after her mother was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver will soon be able to leave hospital for home, according to reports.

Adalyn Rose came into the world under tragic circumstances via an emergency c-section six weeks before her due date. She now weighs a little over 5 pounds.

The baby’s father, James Alvarez, is having to deal with the loss of his beloved wife, but he’s hailed his daughter as a fighter.

“I’m truly blessed that at least I have still here on earth,” he said. “My goal is to be the best father I can possibly be, and give her the best life I can give her.”

He continued: “As soon as I held her, everything just washed away. It was just her and I in that moment.”

According to sources, Yessenia Aguliar was killed by an alleged DUI driver on Aug. 11, while out walking hand in hand with her husband.

James, while heartbroken, is determined to give his daughter as normal an upbringing as possible.

“When she asks how mommy was like, I’ll be ready for that moment to show her the mom she had, because to the very last second, she gave her life for her,” he said. “She protected her, so it’s only fair that I would do the same.”

James also told how Adalyn Rose began to breathe on her own two days after she was born. She’s now able to take a bottle, get baths from her dad and will soon be able to go home!

In fact, Adalyn is set to go home today, and her dad can’t wait.

Rest in peace, Yessenia. We’re sending all our thoughts and prayers to James and little Adalyn.
