NFL player accompanies girl with special needs to her high school prom

Like many girls, Lindsey Preston has looked forward to her high school prom for a long time. This year it was finally her turn, and boy did she take the opportunity to steal the show with both hands.

She’d already acquired the perfect dress, and so set about trying to discover a date to match.

Fortunately, she found it in the form of Don Jones II, who people might recognize as the safety for the San Francisco 49ers.

According to reports, Jones has been a friend of the Preston family for some time, and accepted Linday’s mom’s invitation when she asked if he was available last year.

“Lindsey always stayed in contact with me and the family,” Jones told local news source Waff.

“Her mother asked me to go to prom with her last year so I told her I would be more than glad to.”

Jones went on to say that he was just as happy as Lindsey to attend the dance.

“Anything I can do to make some kids smile, I would be more than willing to do. I think the most fun was all of the guys, I showed the guys about 5 or 6 new dance moves.”

Lindsey’s mom, Kristi, shared heartwarming pictures of the pair on her Facebook page. Lindsey and Don took the traditional prom photos, as well as a host of snaps lighting up the dance floor.

A friend also shared a video of the pair on Facebook, where they can be seen busting some moves to Bruno Mars.

We know, it’s epic right? Three cheers for Don Jones II for attending a high school prom with the sole intention of making kids happy. We can only hope Lindsey enjoyed her dream evening!
