The greatest pictures can say a thousand words, or so we’ve been led to believe.
Anyone doubting that need only look at a heartwarming photo that originally went viral back in 2016, exemplifying a father’s love and concern for his child.
You may have already seen the image in question before, but even if you have, I can virtually promise you that you’ll be moved to sentimental feelings again.
The vast majority of parents will go to any lengths to ensure the happiness and comfort of their babies.
The idea that they might be in distress is unbearable, which is why it’s so difficult to watch them contend with illness and accident. With the greatest will in the world, sometimes as a mother or father you can only be there for them and hope and pray that they pull through.
Which is why we can sympathize with Andre Palmer, a father from York, Pennsylvania who was photographed by his wife in 2016. As per reports, Andre had finished a whole night shift before heading straight to the hospital where his young son, aged just 20 months at the time, was being treated.
Andre’s wife Amy detailed how her son’s room at York Hospital Pediatrics had a crib and a sleeper chair. Amy had fallen asleep in the chair when her husband came in after finishing his shift.
“I thought to myself after working all night he didn’t have to come to the hospital,” Amy said. “He could have went home to sleep.”
She added: “He could have asked me to get up, but he didn’t because he knew how tired I was. He’s a great man.”
Amy woke up to find her exhausted husband asleep under their son’s crib. Touched by the scene, she snapped a photo and uploaded it to Facebook, where it soon garnered plenty of attention.
She wrote: “This is a picture of a hard working man dedicated to his family!! After working all night third shift, he’s right here with his son who is in the hospital. He’s so tired but he’s here!! Father of the year award goes to Andre Palmer!!! I love you more than words baby.”
According to reports, Amy and Andre’s son was later discharged and returned home.
