Barbra Streisand caught some heat with Melissa McCarthy fans Monday after the legend left a questionable comment on Instagram.
“Major boomer aunt with wine and an ipad energy,” wrote one person.
On Monday, McCarthy shared a carousel of photos from the Center Theatre Group’s annual gala held in Los Angeles the day before.
“Pastels only to honor the incredible @matthewbourne13 at the @ctgla gala last night with this fella @adamshankman!!” she wrote in the caption. “Thiiiiis much closer to my dream of dancing on stage.”
Many took to the comment section to praise the actress for her stylish look, but there was one comment that stood out from the rest.
“Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?” Babs wrote under McCarthy’s photos.
Streisand ultimately deleted the comment, but not before fans jumped to McCarthy’s defense.
“Babs. No, honey. Just no.”
“Rude, Barbra.”
“Barbara, if you don’t have something nice to say….”
“@barbrastreisand, that’s a rude question”
“@barbrastreisand who cares if she did Ozempic! Some people have a hard time losing weight! We are all built differently. She looks beautiful as always”
The two actresses are known to be friendly in real life, so it is possible Streisand meant for her comment to be a DM.
Whether it was meant to be a public comment or a private message, it’s never right to comment on a person’s weight. Haven’t we all learned that by now?
