Alex Pretti’s parents gave him a chilling warning days before he was killed

Alex Pretti was killed by ICE officers in Minneapolis last weekend. Now, Alex’s parents, Michael and Susan, have conducted a heartbreaking interview, revealing the chilling warning they gave him just days before he was killed.

On January 24, Alex Pretti was fatally shot by a US Border Patrol officer during what DHS described as a “targeted operation” against a suspect wanted for violent assault.

The 37-year-old ICU nurse was shot on Saturday morning in the street, and his family has already felt forced to put out a statement about what they call “sickening lies” spread by government officials.

The ICE agent claimed to have acted in self-defense. Reports state that the agents had unarmed Pretti. Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told the BBC: “The officers attempted to disarm the suspect, but the armed suspect violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots:”

Alex Pretti family lashed out against Trump Administration amid son’s death

Several Trump administration officials also came to the ICE agent’s defense, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. She held a press conference shortly after the horrifying murder, claiming that the shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti was justified.

“Fearing for his life and for the lives of his fellow officers around him, an agent fired defensive shots,” she said. “This looks like a situation where an individual arrived at the scene to inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement.”

Alex Pretti’s family released a statement, striking back against the accusations made by government officials.

“The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs,” the statement read. “He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper-sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man.”

Now, they have chosen to speak out in a heartbreaking interview. Sitting down with the Associated Press. The 37-year-old ICU nurse’s parents, Michael and Susan, recalled their last conversation with Alex just days before his death.

Michael and Susan shared their concern about the unrest in the city and warned their son: “Make sure to protest peacefully and avoid any confrontation.”

“We had this discussion with him two weeks ago or so, that go ahead and protest, but do not engage, do not do anything stupid, basically,” Michael told AP. “And he said he knows that, he knew that.”

“Loved this country”

“He cared about people deeply and he was very upset with what was happening in Minneapolis and throughout the United States with ICE, as millions of other people are upset,” Alex Pretti’s father continued. “He thought it was terrible, you know, kidnapping children, just grabbing people off the street, he cared about those people, and he knew it was wrong, so he did participate in protests.”

His mother, Susan, added, “He hated that, you know, people were just trashing the land. He was an outdoorsman. He took his dog everywhere he went. You know, he loved this country, but he hated what people were doing to it.”
