Barbara Eden is 95 — and somehow, she still knows exactly how to turn heads.
The beloved I Dream of Jeannie star stepped out in Los Angeles over the weekend, nearly two months after a sudden health scare forced her to cancel a major public appearance.
Dressed in black with a red jacket
And judging by the photos, Barbara was looking every bit like the Hollywood legend fans have loved for decades.
Dressed in black with a red jacket draped over her arm, Eden accessorized with turquoise jewelry and black wedge heels as she made her way out of her car.
She later attended the Hollywood Show, where she spent time meeting fans and signing autographs.
It was a welcome sight after what had happened in September.
Eden had been scheduled to receive the Cinecon Legacy Award at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival, but abruptly had to pull out because of what organizers described at the time as a “sudden illness.”
“We’re sorry to share that, due to a sudden illness, Barbara Eden will no longer be able to appear in person at Cinecon tonight,” event organizers announced through a Facebook post.
Naturally, fans worried.
But Eden soon stepped forward to clear things up herself.
She explained that she wasn’t actually suffering from an illness. Her doctor had recently prescribed a new medication, but it caused some “nasty side effects” that left her needing to stay home until the problem could be sorted out.
She later described it as “awful timing,” but reassured everyone that it was only a temporary setback.
“This is just a speedbump!” Eden said, adding that she expected to be back out and about as soon as her doctor gave her the go-ahead.
And now, she clearly is.
”I’ll have what she’s having!…”
Despite her recent health scare, the 95-year-old star looked happy, energetic and completely at ease as she greeted fans and signed autographs for those who had been waiting to see her at the Hollywood Show.
The actress, who celebrated her 95th birthday in August, has been working in entertainment for more than seven decades.
But for millions of fans, she’ll always be the magical Jeannie from the beloved NBC sitcom, which ran from 1965 to 1970 alongside Larry Hagman.
Her latest appearance quickly sparked an outpouring of love online.
“95…..I’ll have what she’s having! ” one fan joked.
“OMG, BE looks so beautiful, and not only for her age, my Gosh!” another wrote.
“What genes!” someone else exclaimed.
Another fan pointed to Jane Fonda’s philosophy on aging, writing that perhaps it’s all about “good diet, good attitude, good posture.”
And one person who actually met Eden that day had an even sweeter reaction:
“I met Barbara that day, she looked beyond gorgeous and was so nice and generous with her time. She doesn’t look a day over 70. Stunningly beautiful!”
Shares her simple fitness routine
So how has Barbara Eden managed to stay so energetic and active well into her 90s?
For Eden, it seems to come down to a simple approach: keep moving, eat in moderation, take care of yourself and, above all, stay busy.
She still exercises at home, using a stationary bike and lightweight weights. She may no longer do the intense workouts she once did, but she believes even five-pound weights are worthwhile.
“I use very lightweight weights, but they’re good for your bones,” she told Fox News in 2024.
Walking is another favorite.
“I find it better than running.”
Barbara Eden’s diet
When it comes to food, Eden doesn’t believe in extreme diets. Instead, she follows the advice she grew up with from her mother.
“My mother’s mantra was ‘moderation of all things.’ That’s how they lived, and that’s how I’ve lived.”
And yes, she still enjoys sweets — including chocolate and key lime pie.
“I like sweets. I like key lime pie,” she admitted. “I also like angel food cake.”
Her skincare routine is just as straightforward. Eden makes sure to wash her face every night and never goes to bed wearing makeup.

“I never go to bed without washing my face. I like to moisturize and go to sleep clean.”
But perhaps the biggest part of her approach to aging is simply refusing to slow down. Eden has said staying productive and continuing to work is extremely important to her.
“I say, just be busy. Be productive. That’s so important… It’s important to me.”
And perhaps the sweetest part of her latest appearance isn’t just that she looked fantastic — it’s that she was back out there, smiling, meeting the people who have loved her for generations, and showing that her recent health scare really was just a speedbump.
