Barron Trump 'going bald' theory goes viral

Barron Trump made quite the impression at his father’s presidential inauguration on January 20.

The youngest son of the president attended alongside his mother, Melania, and while people were always going to mention his height, several other things about Barron’s day caught the interest of both experts and fans on social media.

The then-18-year-old was praised for how he handled himself, even if some claimed to have noticed odd things about him. Not only did some accuse Barron of possibly using fake tan (like his father), but questions about the teenager’s hair also arose. Namely, is he already starting to go bald?

Barron Trump was barely seen in public for years prior to his father winning the 2024 Presidential Election. On election night, he appeared on stage beside Donald, his mother, Melania Trump, and other family members. With his father set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Inauguration Day, January 20, Barron was, of course, there to witness the historic day for his family.

Barron became a main character over the course of the day, with many following his every step. The youngster mingled with world leaders and former presidents, including Joe Biden, and spoke with Kamala Harris, who lost the election to his father. Online, many gave Barron specific praise for greeting Biden and Harris.

“I was very impressed by that gesture and from someone so young. To go across the aisle and shake their hands was a very classy and mature thing to do. Good for Barron,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Such a good young man… That gesture just tells you everything. Well done, Melania.”

According to the Daily Mail, the video of Barron and Biden on TikTok had been viewed over half a million times within the first week. One person joked, “Looks like he said, ‘You’re done.’”

Speaking with the Daily Mail, body language expert and communications coach Judi James has another theory. She explained that Barron “very confidently” and “charmingly” bent to shake hands with Biden.

“And although Biden’s face seems to fall as though Barron has passed on some kind of sinister threat or message, the truth was less dramatic as Barron seemed to be leaning to greet Kamala and Biden’s face was registering the fact that he’d finished his greeting ritual with Trump’s son,” James said.

She added that Barron’s humor and so-labeled “super-confidence” have led people to misread what Donald’s son really could’ve said to Biden.

“When he was introduced by his father, he stood like a rock star acknowledging the cheers and chants of his name and even cupped his ear to increase them. Which is probably why people might assume (wrongly I’d say) that he’s possibly making barbed comments on his way out here,” James continued.

Moreover, James explained that Barron was “working as a sweeper” during the Inauguration, a role he frequently takes on when appearing with his father at any event.

“Becoming a force to be reckoned with”

“This means he tends to arrive and leave behind his parents, but instead of just walking off behind them as he did when he was younger, he spends time shaking hands and offering gracious-looking words,” James continued, concluding by saying that “defines” Barron’s presence and status without having to compete with his father.

“He lets everyone know that he is becoming a force to be reckoned with in his own right and because of his height and the increase in his confidence signals, it gives him a rather princely air, presence-wise. Biden had been on the receiving end of a flame-thrower speech from Trump, where he had sat in a variety of poses including pained deflation and bravado smiling as his entire four years in office were scorched to ashes.”

It’s no secret that Barron is exceptionally tall, and people usually discuss his height whenever he appears at events. At the Inauguration, he was seen speaking with many people, but one detail regarding his appearance is said to have left people baffled. Express US wrote that Barron was sporting a new ‘healthy glow,’ with the Mirror even claiming Barron had a ‘bronze’ tan—just like his father.

When attending the church ceremony in St John’s Episcopal Church, Barron was seen with bronzed cheekbones and a sparkling forehead, which many compared to Donald. Donald Trump’s orange face has been reported on for years. His face was paler when the current president was younger because he didn’t wear bronzer. So why did Donald start wearing bronzer? Speaking with the Mirror, celebrity makeup artist Safia Cox claimed it could be related to his confidence levels.

“I think he uses some sort of fake tan or tinted moisturizer with a bronzer. I 100% do not think it’s sun beds as it would be a completely different tone,” Cox said.

“I think it’s some sort of fake tan or some sort of tinted moisturizer with bronzer, and he’s then used powder with it. It’s definitely some sort of cream product that he uses and has probably mattified it after because it’s so orange. You can see the rim around his face. If you look closely at his hairline, it’s very pale, and that’s not from sunbeds; he’s slapping some sort of cream product on.”

While many looked closely at how Barron handled himself around the Washington elite, even claiming he sported a fake tan, one other thing caught social media users’ eyes. Online, a buzz was created regarding Barron’s hair or, more specifically, the potential lack of it.

Speculation about his thinning hairline became quite a thing, and one photo, posted by the Mirror, received particular attention. Cameras and angles can play tricks on people, of course, but that didn’t stop people from gossiping online.

“It looks like Barron Trump’s hairline is already receding. It’s getting thin up there. Apple and tree?” one wrote, reported by the Irish Star.

Another, less kind, stated: “Barron Trump already going bald. Nothing crueler in the world.”

The Trump family isn’t known for losing their hair, at least not by looking at them today. In Donald’s case, could it be that he has undergone a hair transplant? According to celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Gary Motykie, it’s more than a possibility.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Motykie claims that Donald has spent roughly $160,000 on hair transplants. According to the plastic surgeon, there are signs of hair surgeries, including hairline advancement and flap technique operation.

“I think that throughout the years we can see evidence of different types of [hair] surgeries,” Motykie said. “And then, I do think we have some older techniques too — like flap techniques, which he tries to cover with this strange parting and combing over.”

Dr Gary Linkov, a hair loss expert and plastic surgeon in New York City, also speculated that Trump had undergone five different hair transplants to restore his thinning line. Moreover, in an extended analysis on their website, the transplant facility The Treating Rooms in London states that it “seems unusual” for a man Donald Trump’s age to have that kind of hair he has without a transplant.

“While Donald has remained tight-lipped about ever having visited a hair transplant clinic for treatment, and is unlikely to make a confession any time soon, there is mounting evidence that he has had some work done,” the website states.

“A painful and invasive treatment”

“An image of Donald hit by a gust of wind that revealed his hairline showed a prominent incision line on his scalp, which many believe could be linked to previous hair loss procedures. Treatments that cause a scar could include a follicular unit transplant, or FUT, although the position of the scar in Donald’s case isn’t typical of this form of male hair loss treatment. “

“More likely, Donald could have resorted to a scalp reduction, which was a procedure typically performed during the 1980s to treat baldness, alopecia, or head burns. This treatment involves taking a section of skin from the scalp, so that skin containing healthy hair follicles can be stretched over the head. It is a painful and invasive treatment, with long recovery times.”

It continued: “Thankfully, hair loss treatments have moved on, and the kind that Donald might have undergone some years ago has since been replaced by those that are minimally invasive, less painful, and have much quicker recovery times.”
