Barron Trump’s sister-in-law reveals why he refuses the spotlight

It’s well known that Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, 20, prefers to keep a low profile. Now, his sister-in-law is revealing why.

Barron Trump is the youngest child of Donald and Melania Trump. His older siblings Donald Jr., 48, Eric, 42, Ivanka, 44, and Tiffany, 32, have all played visible roles in their father’s public life, but despite his family being in the public spotlight, Barron himself has largely stayed out of the public eye throughout his father’s political career. He has been shielded from media attention by his parents and continues to maintain a low profile.

The wife of Barron Trump’s older half-brother Eric, Lara Trump, recently spoke about his preference to avoid attention and limit his media presence on her Right View podcast.

Why Barron Trump keeps a low profile

According to her, it’s simply because he is well aware of his public image – and the fact that he is frequently at the center of online conspiracy theories.

“I feel like he’s the sleeper,” Lara said, according to Tyla. “You want to hear more about Barron because you see less of him. And I think that’s kind of cool.

“I don’t know if he realizes the internet is ‘obsessed’ with him, but he knows that there’s a lot of interest, which is why he likes to lay low. That’s why he likes to play it cool. That’s why you don’t see him all the time.”

“I’ve seen Barron grow up”

She also said that Barron, who is currently a student at New York University’s Washington, D.C. campus, “is ‘excited to finish college and get out and work.'”

“It’s crazy because I’ve seen Barron grow up, which means I’m 160 years old,” Lara said on the podcast, according to Tyla. “But he’s turned out to be a really great kid.”

After turning 20 on March 20, 2026, a source close to the family told People that Barron has “inherited his father’s interest in making money and a name for himself,” adding that he is “smart, focused and resourceful,” and “quite ambitious for such a young age.”
