Bruce Springsteen is done playing in front of massive crowds, at least for 2023.
Springsteen & The E Street Band put out a statement Wednesday announcing the year’s remaining concerts would be postponed until 2024 due to The Boss’ recent diagnosis with peptic ulcer disease.
“Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice,” the statement read.
“With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024.”
The postponed dates are expected to be announced next week.
Earlier this month, the rock icon revealed he had been diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease and was “heartbroken” to have to pushback the band’s eight September shows.
“Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago. We’ll be back to pick these shows up and then some. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
Springsteen was scheduled to return to the stage November 3 in Vancouver.
Although the news has left many fans disappointed, a great number have shown their support for The Boss.
And he’s felt the love.
“Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
