Rudy Giuliani was rushed to the hospital after falling ill following a trip to Paris. The former NYC Mayor survived despite being in critical condition. Now, his care provider is sharing a disturbing update on how close he came to passing away.
On Sunday, it was announced that former NYC Mayor and Trump ally Rudy Giuliani had been hospitalized and was in critical but stable condition.
Ted Goodman, a political strategist who launched a livestream program with Giuliani, wrote on X, “Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman wrote. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.”
It was later revealed that Giuliani had been diagnosed with pneumonia. Goodman wrote that the former NYC mayor’s condition is connected to the 9/11 terror attack.
“On September 11th, Mayor Giuliani ran toward the towers to help those in need, which later led to a diagnosis of restrictive airway disease,” Goodman said. “This condition adds complications to any respiratory illness, and the virus quickly overwhelmed his body, requiring mechanical ventilation to maintain adequate oxygen and stabilize his condition. He is now breathing on his own, with his family and primary medical provider at his side.”
Update on Rudy Giuliani
Shortly after the news became public, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to send his best wishes to Giuliani. Moreover, he blamed Democrats for the former mayor’s health issues.
“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition.” He continued, “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!,” Trump wrote.
Now, new disturbing details about how serious Giuliani’s health condition really was have come to light. Speaking to Fox News, Dr. Maria Ryan said that Rudy Giuliani had begun to feel ill after returning from a trip to Paris. His breathing had deteriorated to the point where he had to be hospitalized and placed on a ventilator.
She explained that when his condition turned critical, a priest was called to his bedside to perform the last rites.

Luckily, on Tuesday, Giuliani’s condition had improved. He was removed from the ventilator and is breathing on his own. While he still remains in critical but stable condition, he is able to speak.
Dr. Maria Ryan said she expects Giuliani to be fully recovered.
“He’s a fighter — the way he was yesterday in such a critical condition, he did have a priest come anoint him,” she told Fox News. “And all the prayers from around — it’s like a miracle. This guy’s got 9 lives, today he’s doing much better.”
