Hank Williams Jr.’s daughter Katherine dies in car crash aged 27 – rest in peace

Katherine Williams-Dunning, the daughter of country music icon Hank William Jr., was killed in a car crash in Tennessee on Saturday night, as per tragic reports.

CBS say the 27-year-old was behind the wheel of a 2007 Chevy Tahoe heading southbound on a highway while towing a boat in Henry County. Her husband, Tyler Dunning, 29, was a passenger.

Sources claim their vehicle “began a rollover sequence” after crossing the dividing median at around 7:44 p.m. CT on June 13, before coming to a stop on the road’s shoulder.

Dunning was air-lifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center – the extent of his injuries remains unknown. Katherine, meanwhile, was listed as fatally injured in the preliminary case information.

The 27-year-old is the daughter of Hank Jr. and his third wife, Mary Jane Thomas.

Holly Williams updated Tyler Dunning’s Instagram with a tribute post to her “precious little sister”. It reads:

“I have no words. On Friday morning I talked the family into taking this picture and had no idea it would be our last together with my precious little sister Katie,” she wrote. “We all went to my great aunts funeral on Thursday whom we all loved dearly, and now are faced with another one.

“ALL we need is prayers. My daddy. My little brother. Katie’s husband (he is awake and responding don’t know injury extent yet). My niece and nephew. Her Mama. The Dunning family. All of us. So. Many. Prayers. Jesus is close. Thank you all.”

Authorities have confirmed an investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Rest in peace, Katherine, may the Lord wrap you safely in his arms.
