In mid-January Kensington Palace revealed a rare personal update regarding Middleton. The Princess of Wales was set to undergo abdominal surgery that would require at least a two-week hospital stay, and she would not return to royal duties until Easter.

Following the announcement of her surgery, the palace said Kate “hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private. Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’s progress when there is significant new information to share.”

Unfortunately, the palace has been forced to address the conspiracy theories about Middleton’s conditions as they continue to swirl online.

It’s so sad to see all the memes and jokes about Kate Middleton. Why can’t people let her recover in peace?
