Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot and killed by an ICE agent in the South Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. Now, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who previously defended the fatal shooting, says the incident was “preventable.”
Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers (ICE) were involved in the fatal shooting on January 7 when 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed in her car.
Many have reacted furiously to the horrific videos of the incident, branding the ICE agent who shot her a killer. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social and blamed the victim for what happened, causing outrage.
”I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. ”The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing, and resisting, who then violently, wilfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”

Trump continued, ”Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE agents on a daily basis.”
“They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE,” he concluded. “We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”

As per the NY Post, Trump also spoke to the New York Times shortly after watching the video of Good being shot.
“It’s a terrible scene. I think it’s horrible to watch. No, I hate to see it. That was a vicious situation that took place,” Trump continued, adding that Good “behaved horribly.”
“And then she ran him over. She didn’t try to run him over,” he concluded.
Kirsti Noem says ICE shooting was “preventable”
At a news conference, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the ICE shooting was justified.
“Our officer followed his training, did exactly what he’s been taught to do in that situation,” Noem said, claiming that Renee Nicole, who was killed, tried to block officers with her vehicle and harassed them throughout the day.

She added that Renee “attempted to run a law enforcement officer over” before she was shot. Still, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary stated that Good’s death was “preventable.”
“Any loss of life is a tragedy and I think all of us can agree that, in this situation, it was preventable,” Noem said, per CNN.
