As the UK marked 80 years since Victory in Europe Day on Monday (5 May), the royal family took part in commemorations, with Prince Louis once again stealing the spotlight with his cheeky charm.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, accompanied by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, made a balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace during a Red Arrows flyover, ahead of the official VE Day on Thursday.
Later, during a military parade, Louis was seated beside Prince William, who was dressed in full military regalia, when a touching exchange unfolded.
At one point, the seven-year-old was seen wiping rain off his father’s jacket. Prince William then tapped Louis on the leg and, according to lip reader Nicola Hickling, said: “Look at this, I think it’s going to be quite wet today.”
Louis, known for his dry wit, reportedly replied (per The Sun): “Wasn’t this supposed to be fun?”
William tried to keep the mood up, reassuring his son: “It is, son. You’ll never forget this,” before adding: “It’s not going to be long, and I want you to be taking an interest.”

Meanwhile, Princess Kate reportedly shared a sweet moment with Charlotte, 10, whispering: “Doesn’t Papa look smart today?”
After the parade, Prince George, 11, joined his parents at a veterans’ tea party, where he impressed attendees with his curiosity and thoughtful questions.
According to Samantha Davidson, the granddaughter of 101-year-old D-Day veteran Alfred Littlefield, George asked how old Littlefield was during his service. The veteran was said to be “delighted” by the young royal’s interest.
Despite the serious tone of the day, George and Louis also showed their playful side. A viral clip captured Louis teasing his older brother over a dramatic hair flick, in a perfect moment of sibling mischief that warmed hearts online.
