Gabe Poriot was in a coma for 18 days – and during that time, he claims he saw Jesus.
A few years ago, Gabe was riding an electric skateboard when he was thrown off in a serious accident. He hit his head on the sidewalk and suffered skull injuries, according to Little Things. His friends reportedly gathered around him afterward, praying that he would survive.
He was rushed to the hospital, but while doctors treated his physical injuries, Gabe later told The Christian Broadcasting Network that he experienced something entirely different.
In an interview, Gabe claimed he saw a tunnel of light, describing it as feeling like he was being “suctioned up to an appointment with Him,” according to Little Things. He also said he saw himself outside of his body and could see both the aftermath of the accident and his friends praying for him. Then, he claims, he entered heaven.
Claims he knows what Jesus looks like
“It was like this city of pure glory, pure light, pure love,” Gabe said. “But then, as the closer I got to the centre of the city, He was there waiting for me. Seeing Him changed everything.”
He also described what he believes Jesus looked like, saying he had brown, somewhat curly hair.
“He was about 5ft 11 [to] 6ft. Met me eye-to-eye. He was darker-toned skinned, close to like Middle Eastern, yet eternity at the same time,” Gabe said on The Lila Rose Show. “So, he was 33 yet eternal.”
With tears in his eyes, Gabe added: “There is no image that you can hold in your hands that does him justice. Nothing does him justice.”
Gabe eventually woke up after spending 18 days in a coma, and according to him, Jesus’ final message was to “tell them who I really am and tell my family that I am coming back soon to get them.”
