Melania Trump sheds light on Donald Trump’s bizarre bedtime routine

Given that he’s one of the most famous individuals in the world it’s hardly unsurprising that people know a whole lot about Donald Trump.

There’s likely also a whole lot people don’t know, of course, but for the most part his life, habits and behavioral traits are scrutinized to the point of there not being much that doesn’t find its way to the general public at some point or another.

That includes his bedtime routine, which came courtesy of Melania Trump’s memoir, Melania: A Memoir, published last year.

Trump has been vocal in the past regarding how much sleep he gets, claiming that during his first tenure in the White House he averaged just four to five hours each night. A terrifyingly low number, the rest of us mere mortals will surely agree, yet perhaps it’s par for the course when you have arguably the most important, most demanding job on Earth.

Though I can’t imagine there are many people out there who wanted or needed the information, First Lady Melania delved deeper into the POTUS‘ bedtime habits while on Fox News’ The Five to promote her aforementioned memoir in 2024.

“He doesn’t sleep much,” Melania confirmed of her husband at the time. She then clarified: “He does, of course.”

Arguably the most revealing detail she divulged then came when Fox News panelist Greg Gutfeld asked her does Trump ‘wear pyjamas’. Melania replied with a hasty ‘no’.

“What does he wear when he sleeps, Melania?” Gutfeld then asked.

That was where Melania drew the line, making a zipping gesture across her lips.

Of course, if you’re a regular consumer of Trump-related news, you’ll know that the president’s sleeping routines were in the news of late relating to a CNN reporter shedding light on a perceived annoyance regarding traveling the world with Trump as he goes about his business.

Kaitlan Collins, Chief White House Correspondent for CNN, appeared on the Trading Secrets podcast last month having spoken with unnamed insiders who reportedly travel regularly with Trump on Air Force One.

“I had this source who said you never want to be on Air Force One on a trip, and I said, ‘Why?’ You would think you would want to be in the axis of power, close to Trump,” Collins said.

Collins alluded to the fact that there are people who struggle to adapt to Trump’s sleep habits when they’re stuck onboard a longhaul flight with him.

“He doesn’t sleep on these trips and like, you’re going to Asia or something, and that’s kind of the only time you’re going to sleep before you go on this trip, but Trump is just always up and talking,” Collins shared.

“He’ll have them go wake staff up if they’re asleep because he wants to talk to them.”
