The mother of Renee Nicole Good, the woman shot dead by an ICE agent during “targeted operations” in Minneapolis yesterday, has spoken out.
The shooting of 37-year-old Good has caused outrage in the US and beyond, with video footage of the scene directly contradicting initial claims that Good had tried to run over an ICE agent.
The footage in question instead shows Good attempting to drive away from officers, one of whom proceeded to shoot her in the head at point blank range. The presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Minneapolis as part of the the White House crackdown had drawn strong criticism even before the shock incident – in the aftermath of the shooting, the city’s mayor, Jacob Frey, angrily told agents to “get the f**k out”.
The Department of Homeland Security, meanwhile, along with several high-profile members of the Trump administration, continue to fan the flames of discord by insisting that Good “weaponized her vehicle” prior to being shot.
As per reports, Good, a US citizen, was the mother of a six-year-old child now believed to be orphaned after the death of his father in 2023.
Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, has broken her silence following her daughter’s death.

Speaking to the Minnesota Star Tribute, Ganger said: “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.
“She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
Ganger also opined that Good was “probably terrified” in the moments leading up to the needless shooting that claimed her life, describing the killing of her daughter as ‘stupid’.
President Donald Trump, in typically bullish fashion, took the side of the ICE agents (there at his behest), labeling Good “disorderly”.

In a post to Truth Social that has largely been slammed across social media, Trump wrote: “I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch.
“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey strongly refuted Trump’s wild claims. As per The Hill, he said: “Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bullsh*t.
“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”
