Nicole Kidman officially files for divorce from Keith Urban – makes huge request

Nicole Kidman has formally filed for divorce from husband Keith Urban, making a huge request in the process.

Yesterday news broke that the superstar couple were calling time on their romance after almost 20 years together. TMZ reported that Kidman and Urban had been living separately since the beginning of summer.

If reports are to be believed, Kidman herself was blindsided by the decision to end their romance, with singer-songwriter Urban said to have been the one who made the call.

Sources earlier this week claimed that Kidman is rumored to be doing all she can to save their marriage, and has been taking care of the couple’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.” County music icon Urban, it’s said, “has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home” following the separation.

A surprise update today suggests Kidman has officially filed for divorce from Urban, and court documents acquired by People shed light on a huge decision that appears to have been made.

Kidman, it’s claimed, has asked to become the primary residential parent of daughters Sunday and Faith. Urban has reportedly agreed to a deal that would see Kidman spend 306 days with the sisters, while he will take care of them for just 59 days of the year.

Another part of the filing outlines that Kidman and Urban have agreed not to speak badly of each other or other members of each other’s family to the press. They will instead strive to ‘encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families’.

People say Urban signed the documents on August 29, while Kidman signed a week later on September 6.

Just what led to their divorce remains unclear, though insiders have claimed that the couple has been spending less time with each other since the death of Kidman’s mother last year.

“They do make a big effort to speak every day when they’re apart, but it’s quite shocking how much time they’ve spent apart since Nic’s mother died (last) September,” one insider told Radar Online.

“It’s like they both went their separate ways and now she’s getting comfortable in a dream home in London on the other side of the world.”

Meanwhile, other sources have alleged that Urban has taken umbrage with the steamy sex scenes in a number of Kidman’s recent film and TV productions.
