Kate Middleton wants Prince William and Prince Harry to reconcile – but one person stands in the way, expert claims

Kate Middleton has undoubtedly become one of the most popular members of the Royal Family. The Princess of Wales is still recovering from the cancer she was diagnosed with earlier this year, but royal fans were rightly overjoyed when she returned to duty at the Trooping the Colour in May. Yet while life continues, Kate and the rest of the royals still have one giant headache: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The troubled relationship with the Sussexes has been ongoing for some years. When Harry and Meghan revealed details about their bad experiences within the monarchy, accusing Kate and the other Royal Family members of many things, the relationship hit rock bottom. Today, a reunion seems a long way away, and Harry and Kate haven’t spoken with each other in a long time.

It’s been said recently that Harry misses his old friends, as well as some parts of his old life. Reports have even suggested that he might be having second thoughts about his life in the US. A new angle suggests that while Kate Middleton might be angry with her estranged brother-in-law, she wants him and William to reunite. However, there is one big obstacle in the way.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s chances of keeping their relationship with the Royal Family healthy disappeared when they spoke out in their infamous Oprah Winfrey interview. Later, the Duke revealed new bombshell claims in his book, Spare, and from that point, a reunion with Harry’s family seemed an unlikely prospect.

Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family

Harry has only met his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, a few times since leaving the monarchy with Meghan. The two attended Prince Philip’s funeral together, and later the funeral for Queen Elizabeth. Meghan also attended the late monarch’s funeral; however, it’s not known whether she and Kate spoke.

Shortly after Queen Elizabeth’s death, Harry, Meghan, William, and Kate joined forces for a public outing at Windsor to greet well-wishers and mourners. It was supposed to be seen as a united royal front despite their different opinions of one another. For Kate, though, the walk was challenging, with author Robert Jobson revealing that the Princess of Wales didn’t enjoy it at all.

The fact that it was to be seen as a feeling of “it’s getting better between us” was, according to Jobson, just an “illusion.”

“Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do,” Jobson wrote.

While she might not have been the main focus, Kate Middleton wasn’t entirely spared from verbal barbs in Harry and Meghan’s infamous Oprah interview.

Meghan claimed that Kate had made her cry over the flower girl dresses on her wedding day, directly contradicting earlier claims made by the British tabloids.

What Prince Harry wrote about Kate Middleton in Spare

In Harry’s book Spare, released in early 2023, the Duke revealed personal text messages exchanged between Meghan and Kate after the disagreement over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

And this was only one thing about Kate he mentioned in Spare. In another part of the book, Harry claimed that Kate once “grimaced” after Meghan asked to use her lipgloss. When she put some lipgloss onto her fingers to use on her lips, the Princess of Wales visibly shuddered.

Moreover, Harry wrote that Kate and Meghan struggled to bond over stereotyping, which he said caused “a bit of a barrier.”

Today, Harry and Meghan live an entirely different life to the one they had grown accustomed to within the monarchy. Sunny California has given them plenty of space for rest and reflection, even if one individual, Donald Trump, has publicly declared that he doesn’t want Harry to stay.

The former president has even threatened to deport the prince from the US if he wins the election. As per reports, the start of their history can be traced back to several years ago.

Back in 2019, Trump visited the UK. As part of the trip, he met with various senior members of the British Royal Family, including then-Prince Charles—the two apparently spoke on climate change—and, of course, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Harry’s troubled relationship with Donald Trump

At the time, there were certain tensions before the UK visit relating to Meghan Markle.

In 2016, during the presidential campaign in which Trump was running for office, Meghan appeared on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and discussed the former The Apprentice star, accusing him of being “misogynistic” and “divisive.” She also pledged to vote for his rival, Hillary Clinton.

Fast forward to Donald’s UK visit, and Meghan had just given birth to Archie. As she was on maternity leave, she didn’t appear during Trump’s state visit. Other reports suggested that she and Trump were purposely kept apart to avoid an embarrassing clash, not least because of what the then-president said before arriving in the UK.

Speaking with The Sun at the Oval Office, Trump said he had never heard Meghan’s words about him.

“I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty,” he told The Sun.

The fact that Donald called Meghan nasty affected not only the Duchess but also her husband, Prince Harry. The Duke was actually scheduled to attend a lunch, during which Trump was also supposed to be present.

One can only imagine that Harry was unhappy about what the former real estate tycoon had said about his wife.

“He will lay on his very best charm”

Still, according to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, the Prince was expected to “toe the line” around the US President, as he was always supposed to remain politically neutral.

“The Royal Family will be professional and duty-bound. But Prince Harry will be going to a private lunch with the Queen on Monday with Donald Trump and the First Lady, how incredibly awkward this is going to be for Prince Harry. He will lay on his very best charm because that is what he has been raised to do; that is what he is required to do,” Arbiter told the Express at the time.

She added: “So I think yes [the royal family] are all sort of aware of Donald Trump and how he has put his foot in it on numerous occasions. But Harry is there to support his grandmother, he will also be there to say thank you to Melania Trump because she did lead the US team to Toronto in 2017 for the Invictus Games.”

Last year, the American conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation, sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for access to Harry’s immigration records. When applying for certain American visas, one must disclose whether they have ever taken drugs, which could result in their application being denied.

Harry revealed in his memoir, Spare that he had previously used various drugs and psychedelics, including cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms.

Donald Trump threatens to deport Prince Harry

However, it’s unclear whether he declared this on his visa application – and Trump stated in March that Harry could be deported from the US if he’d lied about past drug use on his visa application.

“We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action,” Trump told GB News in March.

Just a month earlier, Trump clarified that he “wouldn’t protect” Prince Harry if he wins the 2024 presidential election in November.

“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me,” Trump told the Express, adding that he believes the Royal Family was “too gracious” to Harry after “what he has done.”

“He would be on his own if it was down to me,” the former president added.

At present, Harry is not a US citizen, though he has considered becoming one. Speaking with ABC News, he said it had crossed his mind to apply for citizenship but that it’s “certainly not” a high priority.

The question as to whether Harry and Meghan want to make amends with the Royal Family differs depending on who you listen to. Some experts have claimed that they do want to bury the hatchet, while others aren’t half so convinced.

Now, another expert has spoken out.

The fact that Donald Trump possibly wants Harry to leave if he wins the 2024 Presidential Election could, of course, be making the Duke nervous. According to expert and royal author Richard Eden, Harry and Meghan have now renewed their efforts to reconcile with the Royal Family if that were to ever become a reality.

Why Kate Middleton wants Harry and William to reconcile

These days, Harry and Meghan are some distance away from a loving relationship with Kate Middleton. However, before the couple left, things were different.

Because of that, royal expert and author Christopher Andersen now claims that Kate could be a key person in getting Harry and his brother, Prince William, to reconcile. One big obstacle could stand in the Princess of Wales’ way: her husband.

“Kate was close to Harry, true,” Christopher Andersen told Fox. “They had a special bond. They shared the same goofy sense of humor and laughed at the same jokes. Harry often said Kate was the sister he never had. Of course, Kate would like nothing better than to have the brothers kiss and make up. It would be one less cloud hanging over the royal family’s head.”

He continued: “But above all else, Kate is loyal to her husband. She understands completely why William is still fuming. Kate is not about to pressure William while he has so much on his plate, notably her cancer and the king’s cancer battle as well.”
