Prince Louis ‘takes on new role’ within the Royal Family

Prince Louis has stolen the show almost every time he’s been out with his family on royal engagements. The now 7-year-old prince, the youngest of Prince William and Kate’s three children, has thrown antics left and right through the years, and as he walked out with his family on VE Day, it was no different. However, one thing that was different was the way he behaved. According to a body language expert, it reveals that Prince Louis has gotten a new role in his family.

As Prince Louis is the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the chances of him ever taking the throne are small. Before him in the line of succession are, besides his father, his two siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, which has sparked discussion on what Louis will do when he grows up.

Prince Harry wrote in his book that he feared Louis would have the same destiny as him, becoming a “spare.” However, reports suggest that William and Kate are doing everything they can to prevent that from happening, and possibly even encourage him to go on to have a civil career rather than just a working member of the Royal Family.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror last year that the Prince and Princess of Wales “must be acutely aware” of the problems that could come with Prince Louis—and Princess Charlotte—being a “spare.”

“They have already shown that they have a different and modern attitude to bringing up royal children and I’m sure they will do everything to make Charlotte and Louis feel every bit as special, loved and valued as George,” Bond told the Mirror.

“I imagine they will encourage Louis to explore life outside the royal fold… it could be the military, but it could also be working in the charity world or whatever he finds appealing after his education is finished. I’m sure they will encourage him to go to University, which they both enjoyed and where, of course, they found love.”

On April 23, Louis turned seven. As for every birthday within the Wales family, Kate MIddleton released a new portrait and a video of the youngster. In an interview with Hello! Magazine, royal author and expert Phil Dampier said Louis is set for a “confident” future.

“Up to now, we’ve known Louis as a cheeky chappie – the baby of the family, always pulling faces and being told off by his elder siblings, particularly [his] sister Charlotte,” Dampier said. “But you can see that he is confident and outgoing and full of life. He looks as though he’s inherited the best traits of his grandfather Michael Middleton and his great-grandfather the late Duke of Edinburgh.”

The royal author added that Louie might follow in his father’s footsteps – and make a career in the armed forces. Dampier said, “I can see him going into the armed forces when he is older and loving every minute of it.”

Prince Louis has stolen the spotlight every time he has been with his family on royal duty. When the 80th anniversary of VE Day was celebrated earlier in May, the 7-year-old managed to steal the headlines once again. Louis imitated his brother, George, when he fixed his hair and performed plenty of joyful and warm gestures throughout the event.

Prince Louis ‘takes new role’ within the Royal Family, body language expert claims

Speaking to The Sun, body language expert Judi James now gives her verdict. She states that Prince Louis’s behavior could signify him getting a new “prefect” role.

“Years ago it was William and Kate nudging, encouraging and coaching their young children to look royal in public,” James said. “Then it was Charlotte taking over as group prefect, quietly checking and chiding her two brothers to ensure they were adopting the right poses at the right time and helping Kate deal with Louis’s bouts of playfulness.”

“Today, though, it looked as though Louis has now, amazingly and unexpectedly, taken on the ‘family prefect’ role himself, with three key displays that suggest he’s executing something of a power-grab.”

The body language expert stated that Louis’ gestures were telling a lot about how he’s adapting to a possible future as a working member of the Royal Family. Meanwhile, when they returned to the palace, she noticed him perform a “surprising” act.

“While William, Kate, George and Charlotte all hung around behind Charles and Princess Anne, Louis suddenly broke rank and strode forward, engaging a rather surprised-looking Anne in conversation,” Judi explained, explaining that it shows that Louis is finding his role within the Royal Family.

Prince Louis showed “very unexpected” behavior at VE Day celebration

Princess Charlotte has been said to be correcting her brothers, but this time, it was different. As 23 aircraft flew by to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Louis corrected George’s pose.

“Anne patted her brother on the back to warn him to turn and stand to attention,” Judi James continued, calling his behavior a “complete and very unexpected royal pecking-order turn-around.”

“But in the Wales’s group it was Louis instantly standing to attention before turning to spot the fact that George still had his hands clasped and quickly and firmly warning him to drop them to his sides. It used to be Charlotte checking George and telling him off when he got his pose wrong but now it seems its his younger brother who has taken over the role,” the body language expert concluded.
