Prince William hasn’t spoken to his brother, Prince Harry, in several years, and the estranged prince and his wife, Meghan Markle, moving back to the UK hasn’t made things easier. Last week, the future king made a surprise appearance on The Graham Norton Show, and appeared to take a ‘dig’ at his brother and sister-in-law.
Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship has become more complicated in recent years. But while Harry and Meghan have irritated and lashed out at the royals several times in recent years, the estranged prince has made it clear he is willing to take a step toward healing the family rift.
In a recent interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex opened up about his hopes of repairing his strained relationships with both his older brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles.
Harry said he wants to move forward, despite years of disagreements and hurt between them.
“Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile – that’s the key point,” the estranged prince told GQ.
He also spoke about the lasting impact of family disagreements, explaining that healing does not necessarily mean forgetting what happened.
“Scars stick around forever. But what your perception is, and what your mindset is to those things that have happened, letting go of the past, that’s something that I would encourage everybody to do,” he said.
Prince Harry wants to make amends with brother William
Harry went on to explain that family conflict is something many people can relate to, including those dealing with broken relationships between siblings or parents and their children.
“Sibling disagreements, broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent. That continues to come up with me the whole time with people that I speak to,” Prince Harry concluded.
However, Prince William still appears not to want anything to do with his brother. According to royal expert Tom Sykes, the future king will respond most brutally: With silence.
“Will William respond? I would be astonished if he responded publicly,” Sykes told PageSix. “He never does, and his silence is itself the response.”
The expert added that the interview “won’t change” anything for William, although Sykes admitted that it will “frustrate” him.

“Being lectured in public about reconciliation by the person who has caused the problem is exactly what William finds so hard to forgive,” he went on to explain. “Putting the onus on him through the pages of a magazine is not how you repair a relationship.”
The monarchy itself is transforming modern society. King Charles himself began the “revolution” of modernizing the Firm, and behind him, Prince William and Kate MIddleton are doing their part in making themselves more approachable and “normal.”
Prince William took ‘dig’ at Harry during ‘Graham Norton Show appearance: expert
Prince William has appeared on several podcasts in recent years, and last Friday he took another step by appearing on the very popular television show The Graham Norton Show.
It marked William’s first appearance on the show, and viewers praised how relaxed and humorous he was. The future king revealed that he once wanted to become a DJ, among other things.
But one royal expert has now claimed that Prince William seemed to make a “slight dig” at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Speaking to News24, Charlotte Griffiths, editor-at-large at The Daily Mail, explained that some of what William said could be interpreted as a dig at the Duke and Duchess, not least when it came to using royal titles.s
As William was introduced in the show, host Graham Norton began by asking how he should refer to the royal.

“For the purposes of chat show land, how do I refer to you?” Norton asked, and William replied, “Whatever suits.” Graham said he would “go with William,” William said it was “good,” and Graham Norton joked that “the prince is silent.”
Praised William for being “relatable”
In the News24 interview, Griffiths said that Prince William was “very relatable.”
“I thought in that whole moment when Graham Norton says ‘what shall I call you?’, I thought he was alluding to the fact that Harry calls himself prince,” Gfiffith said.
“Even for their children they call them prince and princess and Meghan calls herself the Duchess and HRH. I don’t know if I am reading too much into it but I almost feel like that was a slight dig.”
She explained, “It was really nice that William was saying ‘whatever, whatever suits,’ he doesn’t really care and it wasn’t put on for effect,” adding that William did a good job and the show was a “real treat.”
