Kevin Costner was born on January 18, 1955, in Lynwood, California, to parents William, an electrician and utilities executive, and Sharon, a welfare worker. He grew up in Compton, California, alongside his older brother Daniel. His family was to welcome a middle brother, too, but sadly, he died at birth in 1953.
