Finnish artist Johanna Hyrkäs came up with the idea of crocheting a circular rug around LED coil lighting several years ago. And ever since, this DIY project has spread like wildfire around the world.

What you need:
- Crochet hook (12 mm)
- Yarn
- LED lcoil lighting (about 10 m)
Instructions:
Get started by crocheting a circle.
Once you’ve done a bit, you can start working around the LED.

Finally, weave the ends and your rug will look like this…
Things really get magical when you light it up…

Remember to use LED lights, since they don’t heat up, which reduces the risk of fire and saves energy.
Also note that you won’t be able to wash the rug, so if you use white yarn, you might want to place it strategically in a corner.
