Madonna tries on Frida Kahlo’s clothes, and fans have one thing to say about her look

Despite her status as a legendary icon, Madonna isn’t one who is known to please everyone with her sense of fashion.

But her latest look, which pays homage to a woman she’s admired for decades, seems to have everyone agreeing.

After wrapping up her Celebration Tour in Brazil, Madonna traveled to Mexico to visit the home of her “eternal muse,” Frida Kahlo.

The Queen of Pop shared photos from her mid-April visit on social media on Monday.

“A Beautiful Souvenir -visiting the family home of my Eternal Muse -Frida Kahlo. In Mexico City,” she captioned the photos. “For me it was magical to try on her clothes and jewelry, to read her journals and letters and to look at photos I’d never seen before. 🇲🇽❤️

The Material Girl wore a white dress with flowers embroidered at the bodice and along the hem, a white hat, and a gray and gold shawl draped over her shoulders.

A close-up photo showed off the “Vogue” singer’s nails which featured Kahlo’s famous self-portrait.

The photos were met with an outpouring of love for both Madonna and Kahlo.

“Simply fabulous, thank you for loving Mexican culture❤️🤗👏👏👏

“What an amazing thing to be able to experience! You must feel so honoured and humbled because I know I would.”

“So cool to see Madonna embracing Mexico’s culture, especially her admiration for Frida Kahlo. I love the Chavela Vargas song she paired with the post, and that Mexican rebozo is simply beautiful…Proud of my homeland 🔥”

“Two Artists 🖼️ bound by the universe. ❤️”

Following Madonna’s photos, La Casa Azul, Kahlo’s museum, released a statement clarifying that none of the items she handled were part of the museum’s collection.

“It is important to clarify that, contrary to what has been mentioned in social media, Madonna, due to scheduling constraints, was unable to visit La Casa Azul during her recent visit to Mexico,” the museum said in a statement. “However, we had the opportunity for her family and staff to enjoy the museum.”

I think Madonna looked gorgeous! Don’t you? Share if you agree.
