Former child model Brooke Shields lit up the red carpet in a stunning bright yellow gown at New York’s Lincoln Center for the 2024 Tony Awards.
But fans noticed the sassy celebrity was hiding something unusual beneath her long lemon dress, that turned her swagger into a slide.

On June 14, Brooke Shields – who at 12 landed her first leading role in the film Pretty Baby where she appeared in nude scenes – shared a Facebook post with her 1.8 million followers.
The post, where she’s seen in the back seat of a car, her two feet in braces, is captioned: “The feet pics are about to level up…Double foot toe surgery.”
Her body has been through a lot in the past few years.
In February 2021, after falling off a balance board and breaking her femur a month earlier, the Blue Lagoon star shared her recovery journey online.
“Broke my femur. Beginning to mend. No matter what your challenge is, make a positive choice, for yourself, to move forward. #BeginningisNow,” Shields captioned an Instagram video that shows her in a hospital gown and attempting to walk on crutches.
But none of it slowed down the resilient star of Law and Order: SVU.
‘Couldn’t do this in heels’
On June 16th, Brooke Shields walked the red carpet of New York City’s Lincoln Center for the 2024 Tony Awards, and she stole the show.
The actor – presenting an award at the star-studded event – was wearing a gorgeous lemon-colored sequined gown styled with gold jewelry, a matching clutch, and left her long brown locks flowing freely over her back.
And she completed the look with a pair of matching yellow Crocs.
The original, clunky clog style.
“I got my Crocs,” she told People of her shoes. “I couldn’t do this in heels!”
Refusing to miss the events show that honors excellence in theatre, the Lipstick Jungle star opted for practical footwear that allowed to her to attend.
“Red carpet three days post foot surgery…what’s a girl to do?! Wear Crocs. That’s what you’re to do! What an honor to present at the Tony Awards last night. Such an incredible evening,” she captions a Facebook post where she’s seen showing off her unexpected footwear.
‘Diva wisdom’
Her practical choice of wearing Crocs at the Tony Awards created a lively conversation among online fans, all who supported her shoes.
One fan enthused, “What I like best about Brooke: she takes herself seriously enough not to take anything too seriously. Diva wisdom.”
A second, who was watching the show live, adds, “…I was thinking how is she doing this? Doesn’t she need crutches? And then we saw your Crocs!!!!! Leave it to Brooke, the show must go on! What a trooper.”
