Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter is growing up fast and she’s the spitting image of her mom

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow can look back on an astounding career – but she’s also a proud mother of two beautiful children.

One of them, Apple, bears a striking resemblance to her mother. The latest photos of the 20-year-old will leave you breathless…

Gwyneth Paltrow has lived almost her entire life in the spotlight, and the popular actress can take comfort in knowing she’s achieved virtually all she set out to. To me, Gwyneth is literally the whole package – beautiful, nice, funny, talented, and very charitable.

The highlight of her working life came in 1998 when she won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Shakespeare in Love. In 2004, the Los Angeles-born star decided to take a step back and focus on raising her daughter Apple.

Apple Blythe Alison Martin was born on May 14, 2004.

The little baby girl weighed 9 lbs 11 oz, and even though it was “a long labor,” both mother and daughter escaped any sort of complications afterwards.

Apple’s father is the Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin.

Chris and Gwyneth met backstage at a concert in 2002 – just weeks after the death of the latter’s famous father, television director Bruce Paltrow.

Their first meeting was, of course, colored by the passing of Gwyneth’s father, but it would lead to something very beautiful in the end. Chris Martin even wrote the hit “Fix You” to help Gwyneth through her grief.

After dating for a while, the two superstars tied the knot in December 2003. The secret, no-guest wedding was held in a California hotel suite – Gwyneth was pregnant with Apple at the time. Back then, the couple were happy and looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together.

”We laughed at the same things, shared a funny bones humour, impressions, utter silliness. We were moved by the same qualities in music: beautiful chords, innovation, harmonies. Peter Gabriel, Chopin, Sigur Rós – though I listened for pleasure and he like he was studying for an exam,” Gwyneth explained.

Gwyneth and Chris stayed married for ten years. After welcoming Apple, they also had a son, Moses, born in 2006.

On the outside, everything appeared to be fine. Many thought that Gwyneth and Chris were living a perfect life – they had money, two beautiful children, and a lovely house. But behind the facade, cracks began to present themselves.

”We were close, though we never had fully settled into being a couple. We just didn’t quite fit together. There was always a bit of unease and unrest,” Gwyneth said.

”But man, did we love our children.”

The couple stayed together because they didn’t want to hurt their beloved children – but it wasn’t a sustainable solution. In 2014, the actress announced that she and Martin had divorced.

Her first marriage may have failed, but Gwyneth has never shied away from her role as a mother and has always tried to stay strong for her children. The Oscar-winning actress and wellness entrepreneur has always been keen on letting Apple decide her own destiny.

In 2005, when asked if she would mind her daughter following in her mother’s footsteps and becoming an actress, Gwyneth replied:

”I just want her to be happy in whatever she does. If she wants to be an actor, I’ll be completely supportive, but I can’t guanine it at the moment. She’s so little she can’t even tie her own shoes.”

Gwyneth and Chris have always been protective of Apple. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the actress said she wouldn’t hesitate to press charges against photographers if they intruded on her privacy.

For most of her childhood, Apple’s parents did what they could to keep her out of the spotlight. There aren’t many public pictures of Apple as a young girl – sometimes a paparazzi photo made the tabloids – but other than that, Apple was rarely seen.

What we do know is that Apple Martin is focusing on her education and left for college in September 2022. Most indications are that she is a student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee – though her family has confirmed nothing.

That said, Gwyneth compared the emotional moment when her daughter left for college to giving birth.

“I know this sounds nuts, [but] it feels almost as profound as giving birth,” the actress said during an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning.”

Lately, though, we’ve seen more and more of Apple – even though her own Instagram page is set to private. The 20-year-old is often referred to as the perfect genetic mix of both her parents.

When she celebrated her birthday in May last year, her mother took to Instagram to declare her love for her eldest child:

“You are everything I could have dreamed of and so much more. Proud doesn’t cover it, my heart swells with feelings I can’t put in to words,” she wrote.

In 2023, Apple appeared at Fashion Week in Paris and the young lady made quite an impression. Everyone was amazed by the resemblance to mother Gwyneth – some also thought that she looked like a mix of Kate Moss and her mother.

According to many fans, Apple looked like the reincarnation of her mother as she sported a black and white tartan mini dress with a matching cardigan from Chanel.

She sat in the front row and seemed to be enjoying the occasion.

“The Chanel Couture show was my first fashion experience, and I am so incredibly grateful to Chanel and their incredible team for having me,” Apple told Vogue in a rare interview.

Speaking with Vogue, Apple was also asked about her own style.

“I can’t say that I am super trendy. I love sweaters and oversized cardigans, loafers, and a good pair of comfy Levis. The most important thing for me is feeling like my genuine self when wearing an outfit; I’m aiming for a mix of classic ’90s and cool grandpa,” she said.
