On Monday Beverly D’Angelo, 71, shared details about her former relationship with Al Pacino, 83. The Vacation actress also shared some never-before-seen photos of the couple’s children.
“I lived with Al for seven years and we have two children…” she began her Instagram video.
D’Angelo revealed some of the more intimate details of her relationship after she asked her fans what they’d like to see on her page.
“My dm box got filled up with questions about my relationship with Al Pacino,” she wrote in the caption of her video.
The actress said the two met in 1996 when they were flying from Los Angeles to New York. Pacino spotted her sitting behind him and told her to sit next to her.
“By the time the plane landed, it was on.”
“In 1997, he looked me in the eye and said ‘I want you to be the mother of my children,’ and although I’d avoided that role my whole life, I was deeply in love and I was 100 percent in,” she explained.
D’Angelo went on to share how she and Pacino went through IVF and in 2001 she gave birth to the couple’s twins Anton James Pacino and Olivia Pacino.
The mother of two shared images of Anton and Olivia as babies before explaining how her relationship became “complicated” and led to their split in 2004.
“The power of our love for our children was the basis for resolving our conflicts and creating a new history as coparents. Leading individual lives separately but always intertwined as a family.”
Despite splitting up, D’Angelo and Pacino still maintain a “unique and profound friendship” for the sake of their children.
“As for me and Al, it is a unique and profound friendship between two artists that endures to this day, through thick and thin, 27 years now of doing it our way. And there you have it,” she concluded her video.
it’s admirable that they worked together to form a new relationship in order to best support their children. That’s not something you see every day, especially in Hollywood.
