As far as the entertainment industry is concerned, unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll know all about the high-profile divorce between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner last year.
The couple were married some 18 years before the latter filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”. For his part, Costner was reported to have been left stunned by his then-wife’s decision to file, and that marked the beginning of a back-and-forth battle that dominated headlines for much of 2023.
The divorce went through in September, and it would now appear that both parties are moving on. Costner is reportedly dating US singer Jewel, while Baumgartner recently confirmed her rumored romance with former neighbor Josh Connor.
Given their court battles and the general manner of their separation, it can be assumed that there’s no love lost between Costner and Baumgartner these days.
The couple have three kids together: sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 12 – Costner was ordered by a court to pay $63,209 per month in child support – but the days where they were a happy family together appear to be well and truly over.
Interestingly, neither party has spoken on the other seeking a romantic relationship so soon after the breakdown of their marriage… until now.
Fresh from reports last week that implied Costner had suspected his ex-wife might have engaged in an affair with neighbor Josh Connor, the 69-year-old actor gave a curt answer when paparazzi quizzed him over the fact that Baumgartner and Connor are now openly dating.
As per a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Costner was asked what he thought about his ex-wife dating their neighbor.
The Yellowstone star replied: “I don’t have a next-door neighbor.”
Earlier this month the Daily Mail published a series of snaps of 49-year-old Christine and Josh, including one wherein the former, a fashion designer by trade, appeared to be seen dropping the latter off at his home.
After the two were sighted during a summer vacation to Hawaii last July, Baumgartner was forced to answer a question about their relationship with one another while in her divorce court proceedings.
“No,” Baumgartner answered when asked where Connor was her boyfriend. The 49-year-old then insisted that Connor had slept in a separate room while the pair were on vacation. The Mail, however, say that Baumgartner and Connor then took a second trip to Hawaii in December.
And insider said: “They’re together and they have been for a while. They spent time before Christmas together in Hawaii while Kevin was presumably in Aspen with the kids.”
