Tom Cruise and Elsina Khayrova have called time on their relationship just weeks after rumors insisted that they were getting serious.
According to new reports from The Sun US, a source claimed that the Mission: Impossible actor, 61, and his now ex-girlfriend Khayrova, 36, have gone their separate ways as their relationship simply “ran its course”.
The pair first sparked romance rumors after attending the same party in Mayfair, London back in December, and since then word of their coupling has made its way in one form or another to major newspapers across the world.
Just last week it was reported that Cruise and Khayrova had taken the next step in their relationship, with a source telling the Daily Mail that the pair were now officially “an item”.
“It’s well known within Elsina’s circle that she and Tom are now an item,” the source told the Mail.
“They’ve grown very close over the past few weeks but take a lot of care not to be photographed together because they want to maintain their privacy,” the source continued, claiming that Cruise has been sleeping at Khayrova’s $12 million apartment.
New reports, however, state that Cruise and Khayrova won’t be moving forward as a couple.
As per The Sun US, a source claimed: “To end things on a bad note would have been awkward if they’d bumped into each other in the lift. There are no hard feelings between them and for Tom, their relationship simply ran its course.”
The sudden breakup comes after Cruise reportedly met Elsina’s children, both of whom are from her marriage to Dimitry Tsvetkov. Khayrova and Tsvetkov divorced last year.
As for Tom, the relationship with Khayrova marked the first proper romantic venture he has engaged in for some time. The actor has been married three times, first to Mimi Rogers between 1987 and 1990, then to Nicole Kidman for 11 years between 1990 and 2001.
Cruise was most recently married to Katie Holmes between 2006 and 2012, but has remained single since their split.
