The high-profile trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is unfolding with new explosive details surfacing daily.
Last week, a heartbreaking testimony came from his former girlfriend, Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, who leveled a series of serious allegations against the rapper after more than a decade together.
Now, shocking images captured by law enforcement at the time of Diddy’s arrest have emerged, adding a chilling new chapter to this gripping case.
Wiped away her tears
Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was indicted by a grand jury and taken into custody last September at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan, New York.
The 55-year-old hip-hop legend faces charges including racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, along with several other accusations — all of which he denies. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
One of the most heart-wrenching moments of the ongoing trial came last week when Diddy’s former longtime girlfriend, Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, took the stand. The pair dated for over a decade, and her testimony painted a disturbing picture of abuse and coercion behind the scenes.
Cassie Ventura first met Sean Combs when she was a 19-year-old aspiring musician. Combs, 17 years older than her, signed her to his record label.
Their romantic relationship started shortly after, as she fell for the charismatic music mogul. However, Cassie testified that it didn’t take long before she saw a darker side to him, occasionally wiping away tears as she spoke.
Allegedly slashed her eyebrow
According to Cassie, their relationship eventually became violent. She described a terrifying incident where Combs attacked her while she was sleeping, slashing her eyebrow and throwing her against the corner of her bed, even as her two friends tried to intervene.
The court was shown a photo of the injury, which Cassie said Combs later had a plastic surgeon secretly repair. She also recounted another frightening moment at a party when he kicked her head while she was hiding behind a toilet in a bathroom stall.
In addition, Cassie accused Combs of forcing her to participate in so-called “freak-off” sex parties, where she was allegedly made to have sex with male escorts while Combs watched.
Newly released photos
Cassie also revealed troubling details about Combs’ drug use. She testified that his drug of choice was ecstasy (MDMA), and that she witnessed him using opiates daily. She also recounted a near-fatal overdose at the Playboy Mansion in 2012.
Now, newly released photos from law enforcement taken at the Park Hyatt hotel room where Combs was arrested last September have added fuel to the fire.
Prosecutors released the photos to the media on May 19 and say that the images suggest Combs was preparing for a drug-fueled “freak off” party. Among the items seized were bottles of baby oil, mood lighting, and suspected drugs.
Evidence shown to the jury included pill bottles labeled for anxiety medication, bags of pink powder that tested positive for ketamine and a mix of ketamine with MDMA, as well as roughly $9,000 in cash.
Cassie described how Combs would set the scene for these parties, lighting scented candles and mixing oils, even asking her to warm the baby oil beforehand. Combs’ attorneys maintain that all such parties were consensual and deny any wrongdoing.
During the raid on Combs’ hotel room, Homeland Security Investigations special agent Yasmin Binda testified about the discovery of items like baby oil and Astroglide lubricant stashed in a closet, which she described as key evidence.
Combs had been in New York for 11 days before his arrest, allegedly preparing for a final “freak off” event. The prosecution also presented chilling surveillance footage of Combs attacking Cassie inside a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 — an incident she said occurred after trying to escape one of these parties.
Photos of Cassie’s bruised face and lip were shown to the jury as well.
During the trial, Cassie also testified that Sean “Diddy” Combs used secret nicknames like “Frank White” and “Frank Black” to book hotel rooms for alleged “freak off” parties. She also revealed her own alias was “Jackie Star,” accusing Combs of long-term abuse and control.
In earlier court documents, Combs’ attorneys stated that he stayed at the Park Hyatt to be easily reachable by authorities and to voluntarily turn himself in.
