
The alleged killer of Charlie Kirk is in custody. At a press conference Friday morning, Utah Governor, Spencer Cox, confirmed 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson has been arrested and stands accused of the killing.
The conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot dead during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Since then, a manhunt for the suspect has been ongoing. On Thursday, FBI released a photo of a person of interest in the Charlie Kirk shooting released as well as revealed that a rifle had been recovered.
Police officers from four law enforcement agencies were involved in the manhunt, including the FBI, the Orem Police, the Utah Valley University Police, and the Utah Department of Public Safety.
At a press conference Friday morning, authorities confirmed that 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson has been arrested and stand accused of the killing. Family member of the suspect turned him in to police.

About an hour before the press conference was held, President Donald Trump appeared on Fox & Friends, saying that one person was in custody.
The president said, “We have the person that we think is the person we’re looking for, but they drove into police headquarters and he’s there.”
“Everybody did a great job,” he said. Trump also said he hopes the shooter gets the death penalty.
