Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s bombshell divorce filing is revealing more than just the end of their 19-year marriage – it’s exposing the stars’ astonishing monthly earnings in the process.

For nearly two decades, Nicole Kidman, 58, and Keith Urban, 57, were one of Hollywood’s golden couples.

From red carpet glitz to quiet family life in Nashville, the Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning country star appeared to defy the odds stacked against celebrity marriages. But the illusion of everlasting romance came crashing down on Sept. 30, when Kidman officially filed for divorce, ending their 19-year union.

Shocking split

What caught fans most off-guard was how sudden the public divorce announcement seemed – especially given Kidman’s June Facebook post celebrating their 19^th wedding anniversary, complete with a sweet photo of the couple. The “Somebody Like You” singer didn’t share a post of his own, instead opting for a single heart emoji in the comment section.

Behind the public image, however, things had already begun to unravel. Insiders revealed that it “really hasn’t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now.”

Separate lives

According to Woman’s Day, Kidman had relocated to London while filming the Practical Magic sequel, renting a home in Hampstead owned by pop icon Boy George.

Meanwhile, the Grammy-winning singer continued touring internationally, often away from both his wife and their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

“They’ve always been diligent about not spending more than two weeks apart,” a source told Woman’s Day. “Clearly that’s not the case anymore.”

Agreement signed weeks ago

And then, just one day after a potential split went public, Kidman officially filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Despite the shock to fans, legal documents and insider reports indicate that the couple had been preparing for this moment well in advance.

People reports that the parenting plan outlining the shared custody of their daughters was signed by Kidman on Sept. 6 and by Urban on Aug. 29.

Family law expert Marilyn Chinitz, who is not involved in the case, told People, “They have absolutely worked this out long before they ever made their announcement.”

As for custody arrangements, the star of Big Little Lies requested to be the primary residential parent, proposing that the children reside with her for 306 days per year, compared to 59 days with the “One Too Many” singer.

‘Cocaine clause’

One unusual detail emerged from their Marital Dissolution Agreement – an alleged provision in their 2006 prenup known as the “cocaine clause.” This section reportedly entitled Urban to $600,000 for every year of marriage, but only on the condition that he remained sober.

With their marriage lasting 19 years, the clause could result in a payout exceeding $11 million, assuming it was enforced and he met the terms.

Shocking monthly salaries

While that detail raised eyebrows, even more buzz surrounded the couple’s current financial disclosures.

According to court documents obtained by several news outlets, including E! News, both Kidman and Urban reported monthly incomes of $100,000 each.

While staggering to the average household, that number reflects only a fraction of Kidman’s total earnings.

In fact, Forbes named her the eighth highest-paid actor of 2024 – and the highest-paid actress – with $31 million earned from a string of projects including the TV series The Perfect Couple and films Babygirl and A Family Affair.

Despite the eye-watering earnings, the documents confirm that neither party will be paying spousal support or alimony. As outlined in their prenuptial and divorce agreements, there will be no exchange of funds between them, and both sides have also waived child support obligations, with the total listed at $0.

Now, with no spousal or child support on the table and a clear custody plan in place, the couple’s divorce appears to be moving forward amicably – at least legally. But for fans who saw them as one of Hollywood’s most unbreakable couples, the reveal of their split and finances has been nothing short of shocking.
