Kate Middleton’s special gift from Donald Trump came with an unbelievable price tag

Donald and Melania Trump spent three days in the UK in mid-September for their second state visit. The couple enjoyed quality time with the Royal Family, with Melania even going out on royal duty with Kate Middleton. Of course, gifts were also exchanged between the presidential couple and the royals – and what Donald gave Kate is something quite extraordinary.

The President and First Lady of the United States became historic as the first presidential couple to have more than one state visit to the UK. Donald and Melania Trump were greeted by Prince William and Kate Middleton before being welcomed by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The Princess of Wales has undergone a very challenging period with her cancer diagnosis, but since January, she has been in remission. She played a vital part in the state visit, not only being the first one, together with William, to greet the presidential couple, but also sitting next to Donald Trump during the state banquet.

Trump had Kate Middleton as his table companion, and the two seemed to enjoy each other’s company immensely. According to body language specialist Bruce Durham, it may have even gone so far as to show that Kate won over the American president.

“Look how regal she looks, how straight she looks – and [she’s] looking at Donald Trump like a childish, impish-type comment has been made,” Durham told the Mirror.

He added: “This is important because when is Donald Trump never the alpha? So there is something going on here in that either Kate has an effect on him, or there is a narrative in his head which results in him raising his shoulders, retracting his head, with Kate the alpha, Donald the beta.”

Donald Trump’s expensive gift to Kate Middleton during state visit

It has long been known that Trump has a soft spot for the British Royal Family. He also showered Kate with praise during the state visit.

“To see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, and so beautiful. It’s really a great honour, thank you,” Donald Trump said.

Praise in words wasn’t the only thing Kate received from Donald. She received a special gift from the President and First Lady of the United States, which could be seen as a sign of how important she is becoming for the future of the Crown.

As per Town&Country, Kate Middleton was handed a vintage Elsa Peretti sterling zodiac cuff from Tiffany and Co. The iconic jewelry designer has been a favorite of Kate’s and the Royal Family’s for many years. Depending on when it’s from, which is unknown, it cost from $1500 up to $4000.

On previous state visits, for example, when the Obamas and the Bidens visited the UK, they handed over Tiffany jewelry gifts. Moreover, the Kennedys did the same to the late Queen Elizabeth.

When Donald did his first state visit in 2019, he gave Queen Elizabeth a silver brooch in the shape of a poppy to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, also from the legendary jewelry designer.

King Charles received a sword

Donald and Melania also handed over a gift to King Charles, a replica of a President Eisenhower sword.

Per Buckingham Palace, the piece “symbolizes profound respect and is a reminder of the historical partnership that was critical to winning World War II” as well as “the enduring values and cooperative spirit that continues to define the relationship between the United States and Great Britain.”
