Farrah Fawcett’s son spotted in court with new forehead tattoos amid attempted murder charge

Redmond O’Neal, son of iconic actress Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O’Neal, appeared in court this week charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, among several other counts.

According to PEOPLE, the 41-year-old’s alleged crimes date back to a 2018 spree that took place in Los Angeles, when he is suspected of having attacked one man with a glass bottle and stabbed another.

“Initially, the victim thought that the suspect had merely ‘punched’ him in the back,” according to a criminal complaint cited by PEOPLE.

“However, once paramedics arrived, the paramedics discovered that the victim had sustained a serious stab wound to the left side of his body.”

O’Neal also stands accused of robbing a 7-Eleven during the course of an alleged crime spree that lasted a week.

In a set of images published by the Daily Mail earlier this week, O’Neal could be seen in court on March 10 sporting an unusual set of new tattoos.

He was deemed mentally competent to stand trial, while an attorney speaking on his behalf entered a not guilty plea.

The aforementioned tattoos have garnered interest online, showing devil horns on either side of his forehead, just below his hairline.

O’Neals conservator told PEOPLE: “Redmond has been drug free and a model patient for 5 years now at Patton State Hospital. He has had to overcome so much in his life we are proud of him and Farrah would be too. He finally got a proper mental health diagnosis and medication.

“I believe his serious drug problems in the past were a result of not having mental health support in his earlier life,” the statement goes on.

“Today, he is participating in 12-step recovery, helps out patients, reads every day, and has found a spiritual life. There are many friends and supporters of Redmond who are in contact with him and are so proud of his journey to recovery.”

As mentioned above, O’Neal is the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal. The latter was nominated for a Leading Role Oscar in 1971 for his performance as Oliver Barrett IV in Love Story. He passed away from congestive heart failure in 2023.

Farrah Fawcett, meanwhile, had a long and successful career in Hollywood, initially rising to global fame as Jill Munroe in Charlie’s Angels.

Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, announcing her diagnosis in a public statement.

The actress underwent treatment and was given a clean bill of health in 2007, though the cancer returned and metastasized to her liver. She died in 2009.
