Jack Osbourne has welcomed a daughter and chosen a very special, heartfelt name to honor his late father.
Jack Osbourne and his wife, Aree, have welcomed their second child together: a baby girl, born on March 5. He shared the joyful news on Instagram, revealing that the baby had been given a name in tribute to Jack’s late father, Ozzy Osbourne, who tragically passed away last July at 76.
“Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne,” Jack wrote, posting a short black-and-white video of the newborn. In the clip, she lies next to a birth plaque displaying her full name, date and time of birth, weight, and length.
A bat teddy sits in the background, a clear nod to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. Jack later posted on his Story saying: “She’s arrived and she’s perfect.”
Aree also shared the news on social media, writing: “Our Ozzy Matilda Osbourne has landed earthside.”
“We’ll keep your name loud”
She had previously posted a heartfelt tribute to her late father-in-law on Instagram, promising to keep his “name loud”.
“I’m pretty sure I have the coolest father-in-law around, and the best papa to my kids. The world got a rockstar, but we got an ice-lolly-loving, goofy, big-hearted guy who made us laugh like no other. He was always in my corner, and I will forever be thankful to him for raising my husband and blessing me with my family. We got Nana always, Papa. Keep giving us all those signs from above. We’ll keep your name loud, your stories alive, and your love wrapped around us like armor. Forever our guy.”
Baby Ozzy joins her older sister, Maple Artemis Osbourne, born July 9, 2022. Jack is also a father to three daughters from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly: Pearl Clementine, 13; Andy Rose, 10; and Minnie Theodora, 7.
Fans quickly flooded the comments with congratulations and reactions to the tribute. One Instagram user wrote: “Oh my goodness, congratulations! I love her name – I’m sure Ozzy is smiling.” Another added: “I didn’t expect to open Instagram & cry today, congratulations,” while a third said: “The sweetest name. Her Papa’s gotta be so tickled watching over.”
