When you think about sexual intercourse, the first thing that comes to mind might not be injuries. Now, an expert has issued a warning about one specific sex position. A position that has, according to one escort, been said to be the most popular.
One might think that unusual or extreme bedroom activities are the main cause of injuries. However, that’s not the whole truth. In fact, what truly leads to injuries may surprise you.
According to recent findings, it’s actually the most basic and commonly used positions that can sometimes lead to problems. This goes against what many people assume about sexual injuries.
Most people imagine that accidents only happen during wild or experimental situations. Yet, research shows that every day, “normal” sex positions are more often linked to injuries than people expect.
A study looking at over 1,000 people in Europe and the US who had experienced sex-related injuries discovered something surprising: familiar positions were responsible for many of these cases.
One of the most common positions, Missionary, which is often seen as safe, turned out to be a major cause of issues.
Warning about common sex position
For men, this position was linked to nearly 1 in 5 injuries, including serious problems like fractures, as well as back pain and muscle strain.
Moreover, women also experienced discomfort, with injuries such as soreness and small tears being reported.
Speaking to The Sun, sex expert Scotty Unfamous explained why most injuries occur through that position:
“Although it’s one of the most popular positions for sex, this fan favorite is the most common way that intimate injuries occur, as it can cause some wear and tear to your joints,” he said- “If you experience discomfort from how you are positioned during missionary sex, try incorporating cushions or a rolled-up towel/blanket to provide some support where you need it most, like under your hips, knees, back or shoulders.”
Escort shares favorite sex position among male clients
That the missionary is very popular has also been confirmed by an escort. Australian escort Lilith Lodge told Metro that “most clients are very basic and standard in what they want. It’s not super common, definitely not a weekly event, to have clients ask for something outside of what I feel is ‘normal’. It’s pretty much just missionary.”
She continued, “It can be very uncomfortable and not enjoyable for my clients to do crazy positions, unless they’re a really young guy. Sometimes they’ll ask for missionary with my feet up behind my head, but that’s about it.”
In other words, something that feels “safe” can still cause harm if there’s too much force, poor positioning, or lack of control. This reinforces why understanding the risks of familiar activities is crucial.
Interestingly, despite the risks, this position remains the most requested and most commonly used. One escort explained that most clients prefer simple, traditional options rather than anything unusual.
